SILVERSTONE GP CIRCUIT - PRODUCTION CAR LAP RECORD (

After being unsuccessful due to track day traffic at the previous Silverstone GP track day we finally managed to get a decent lap in with the JCR GT2 RS MR on Wednesday 8th June 2022.
A clear lap and fair conditions allowed us to beat the current fastest lap time of a 2:07.33 by a reasonably small margin of 0.50 seconds to secure a new Production Car Lap Record of Silverstone GP Circuit with a time of 2:06.83.

Is this lap record as "official" as you guys make it sound? The MR kit is one thing but all the other bits aren't exactly standard prodction :D

Why weren't the magnesium wheels and the rear aero discs fitted? Didn't make a difference?

They were, we installed them prior to the lap. We have four sets of wheels for this car :)

What a load of nonsense this is. It’s not a road production car at all but a Porsche GT2RS with a Manthey Racing pack etc. I’m sure if for example the McLaren 720s GT3 X which is a good comparison or even a Senna fully race tuned then they would be far faster. An overweight TV presenter got a 2.09 from an out of the box Senna with no race prep. A Pro driver with a set up like yours would easily top 2.06 so while a good effort no point boasting about a car that is not a road production car !

The Manthey Racing Performance Kit is available from the Porsche main dealer network therefore this is a production spec car. There is really no arguing this fact but feel free to ask more questions. As mentioned this was on used tyres, we will go faster again once the opportunity arises.

Is a GT3 X road legal?

@@ArosaMike No it’s not however the point is the GT2RS with all the fiddling that Manthey do allegedly then making it an out of the box production car ( do me favour ) and the guys here, hardly means it’s a stock road car. A Senna in contrast for comparison is a more accomplished road car than a Stock GT2RS, so how one of these fettled track cars performs as a road car is dubious. In the grand scheme of things all very meaningless as a really good track/race car is usually crap on the road and vice versa. It’s all Willy waggling the same as all the airfield 1/4 1/2 drag races.
