I remember as a kid I heard the faster version on the radio and absolutely loved it. I went looking everywhere trying to download it and kept getting this version. I was so pissed at this version for the longest time. Now it’s probably my favorite version of the song.

I was SO confused. I've only ever know this version since I was little, and when I went to look it up on youtube everything sounded wrong! The tempo's off, the singing's at a slightly higher pitch; I thought I was going crazy! I never knew there was more than one version.

Lol there are 3 versions I think. The radio edit is about 4 and a half minutes. The studio version of the full song (the one released as a single) is about 6 minutes. And then there is this one.

This was the first version of this song that I heard. While I love it, I do like the faster album version better. However, they should have kept that very beginning part. It immediately grabbed me in and I still love it to this day. They should have done more with and kept in the album version.

Their producer was correct: increasing the tempo makes the song much more catchy and easy to listen to. Slowing the song down doesn't add anything like depth or nuance (and certainly not meaning in this case) so I believe the radio version is better for this particular track.
