In this Part 2 video, the 1485 speaker cabinet is completely disassembled, then cleaned, repaired, recovered, and gets a new speaker baffle and casters. In addition, the six Jensen C10Q's are evaluated and three are found to require re-coning. I think you'll agree that he Before and After appearance of the cabinet is even more extreme than the head, in Part 1. In addition, we will be visited by KC and Jack, and have another chapter in the 350 Chevy engine makeover.

Uncle Doug, in 1992 i responded to an article in my local paper, for sale, an Original 1957 Les Paul Jr, Sunburst, I went over to the mans house, He let me play the guitar, and i bought it for $1500 Bucks, excellent condition, What a find, he was a local Preacher who only played in Church, But he had the very same Silvertone cab that you have here, and the Original Amp Head that came with it at the time, It Looked brand New, He said No, i still play it in church, But i Got the 57 Les Paul, I love your channel, this brought back a memory, Cousin Figel

I think in France this model speaker cabinet was branded as Le Pissoir.

Sigh... I had begun to wonder about Rusty, as he was not seen in the last few of your videos I had watched (out of chronological order). I heard no mention of his passing until now, and I am greatly saddened. He looked like a nice old dude. I am sorry for your loss. And yet I am gladdened by Casey's progress and am still thoroughly mesmerized by your restoration work. Also looking forward to more live jams from Jack and Ollie.

You’ve brought that cabinet back from the dead, it now probably looks better than it did when new. It’s a shame that you’ve got to re-cone three of the speakers, I’m amazed that you can still get parts as hardly anybody repairs anything these days. The new baffle looks great and the plywood will certainly enhance the sound of those classic old speakers. I can’t wait for the next episode!

My 1483 head is in much better condition. It came with a smaller cabinet with a 15" speaker(I have only the head, no cab). You have done an excellent restore of the cabinet. It is worth noting, you re one of the few that have the expertise and patience to make this restore happen! Leave it to Uncle Doug to bring the cab back from the brink of destruction! It will be wonderful to see and hear this amp. I think Danelectro would be proud! Thanxz

Thanks Uncle Doug, This has been a great series and even though it was a filthy mess, what an amazing amp. This was some true history and there is really nothing like it on KZbin or anywhere else. The world should thank you, I certainly do. Buddy

I was saddened to hear of Rusty’s passing. My condolences. He was a good boy and will be missed by us all. Casey seems to have filled the void that Rusty left behind admirably. Thanks for another great video. Stay well.

Another fantastic video Uncle Doug. The speakers are indeed glorious. I was tickled to death to find a pair of matching 1963 C10 Q's for my 1964 vibrolux Reverb this week. Was also glad to pay what I felt was a reasonable $250 shipped from TX to GA! Keep up the best amp videos on KZbin! (Dont tell Brad, the Guitologist I said that. Haha) But then again, after the robot amp, I am sure he agrees.

Have been watching with great personal interest Uncle D, as I owned a 1484 in 1968. What an amp. Was dissed by the local teenage cognoscenti who favored the Fender Twin, but I couldn't afford one. When I got it home and the guys would come over to jam through it, their thinking changed considerably. These were great amps for the money. I'm glad to see you restoring this one to its former glory. I enjoy the detail you're giving us, like the foam and chamfer on the keeper cleat at the bottom or the nylon strap for the cord. This amp looks great and I appreciate that you're keeping it in its original state as best you can. Can't wait to hear how it sounds after you do brain surgery on the head.
