Commenting to see if they’ll respond. Curious what they used to get the adhesive off.

Hello, I'm sorry for the late response. I used hot air and isopropyl alcohol to remove the coating. Then, I used 80-grit sandpaper and again isopropyl alcohol to clean the remaining parts. Letting the alcohol sit for a bit and scraping with a spatula is effective.

Great restauration, I am working on a similar project with a 4x10 bass cabinet but different brand. But , I learned something new to what you were doing.... I am just curious, why didn't you use TOLEX instead of the black Spray paint?
@richardpollard78939 ай бұрын
looks like he used truck bed spray liner, much more durable. Can take lots of abuse and still look like new

Thank you for your comment. The slopes on this bass cabinet are excessive. Tolex covering tends to peel off eventually. Anti-gravel coating is a definite solution.

I think he was 7:51 going for that textured coating look very slick. That black texture paint is tuff stuff and it's cheaper to buy than tolex he did a awesome job!
