A contemporary of J.S. Bach, Silvius Leopold Weiss was born October 12th, 1687 and died the very same year as Johann Sebastian, in 1750. It is thought the two actually met several times throughout their lives, and that the two would sometimes compete in improvised fugue technique, though the guitarist John Williams had a telling smile as to whom the winner might have been in a rare video posted by a wonderful person and fine arts devotee. I recall having studied some of Mr. Weiss' material while attending Marshall University on scholarship. I find it an astonishing synchronicity that Mr. Weiss was born on my birthday! Equally astonishing, humbling and amusing is the fact that this year will mark 333 years between our respective dates of birth. It's seems the Creator might have a good destiny in store for me!

Esse trabalho é muito lindo, mas a versão com Stephen Stubbs é imbatível e nunca encontrei em lugar nenhum e o pior foi que dei meu valioso e raro disco para um amigo, que sumiu.
