Passed my instrument checkride last weekend. FlightInsight was by far the most efficient and effective IFR channel on KZbin, thank you! Just purchased the commercial ground school!

I love this Sim Challenge idea! Please keep them coming!!! My 17 year old son just used your private pilot ground school to pass his knowledge test. No it's onto instrument ground school. Your content is amazing. Thank you for what you do.

I really appreciate you going through the considerations while planning this flight. Seems on a sim you could just load and go. Thanks for illustrating the "rest of it".

This seems like a fantastic idea and can't wait to work through these videos and fly them. Hooray!

If you want to fly in Europe try LOWI Innsbruck Austria to LIPB Bolzano Italy. Very short flight over alps with great views and challenging approaches.

This is exactly what I need! Just bought all courses, some for revision and others to help progress. I’ve also got a basic home sim setup while I can’t fly so this is perfect! Keep ‘em coming. Also, don’t forget your international students/subs. Maybe chuck in some overseas flights occasionally. I’m sure it’ll help the US guys as well in the long run.

Hey, Dan. This is a very nice complement to your IFR ground school, as this puts all the concepts together and allow students to practice them on a flight that simulates all the decisions required for an actual flight. Thanks! On a side note (and considering that this ILS approach is reviewed in depth by all those looking for an IFR rating on VATSTAR), it is important to clarify that when you mention that "ATC will not assign us this ILS unless we get a radar vector" (as we will be approaching from R-099 on V112), this is actually true only if one considers AST VOR as our initial point to the feeder route towards ZINKY (not that the whole procedure is NA if we arrive on V112). This is clearer if you check the corresponding Jeppesen chart where this note is clearly assigned to this feeder route only. As an alternative, one may arrive on V112 and continue on V27 northbound and arrive to PULYI as the IAF to the procedure and proceed to the DME arc (which is always absolutely fun to fly!). Let me know if that makes sense.

@@JanZ56 In a nutshell, arriving from these directions would mean a very steep turn angle to intercept the feeder route, maybe even taking the aircraft outside of designed protected airspace depending on how this turn is performed. More specifically, you may check FAA Order 8260.3E: 2-2-4. Alignment. a. The angle of intersection between the initial routing of a ground-based STAR and the ATS route where it begins (if applicable) must not exceed 120 degrees.

Man, MSFS is phenomenal! As a student pilot, I used it (and PilotEdge) to work the comms at my Class Delta, on my first LESSON. Contrast that with another CFI making notes on a blown-up photo of a Cessna panel, such as “this is the Altimeter” for *their* first lesson. I used MSFS to pre-fly my night-flight, XCs, Solo XC… Up next? INSTRUMENT!

I'm currently studying for the written using the FlightInsight IFR ground school and this will be a welcome addition. I'd like to build a sim for IFR practice and some advice would be helpful. Have you done any videos on simulator configuration and setup?

My sim is simply my decent laptop, yoke, quadrant, and recently, the radio with X-plane 11. I really enjoy flying the needles and not spending $300+ for the flight!

Love your content! I’m about to start my IFR training and I’ve already passed my knowledge exam thanks to Sheppard air. I’m considering buying your IFR school to learn the actual practical stuff, but I’m wondering if you could comment or do a video on exactly home much more content someone gets compared to what’s already on your channel. Thanks man

Currently there is less than half of the course content available through KZbin, and we are always rotating videos out so what’s up there doesn’t stay forever. The course videos are kept up to date frequently while the public ones are static. Also, the course includes comprehensive test prep and endorsement, though you’re already all set on that front!
