@Navigraphteam6 ай бұрын
Great point 👍. Since SimBrief only supports setting the total number of passengers or cargo (and not where in the aircraft they are located), it isn't possible for us to provide this. For example, the trim setting will change depending on if all the passengers are sitting in the front or in the back. Since SimBrief doesn't have a setting for this, we can't calculate a trim setting. However, normally most add-ons that feature an EFB will be able to provide a trim setting based on how you've set the aircraft payload.

One question: When I want to do an intersection takeoff, what value do I need to enter into the shorten length? Do I enter the amount I want the runway to be shortened by or the length of the shortened runway?

So do we not need to use the performance tool in the PMDG tablet now? General question - I spend a lot of time in Charts selecting transitions and approaches but there's no way to get that info into BeyondATC for example or simbrief since BATC reads simbrief? Confusing. I know this questions isn't specific to the perf calculations but I'm relatively new and I dont understand if there's a way to have anything derived in Navigraph charts to be put into simbrief so that ATCs or other tools that leverage simbrief are in synch with what I want my flight plan to look like. I see you input your own weather. Is something wrong with the import weather button you didn't press?
@Deadmode6 ай бұрын
Approaches are not planned in Simbrief, only the SID/STARS and enroute waypoints. Any SID/STAR that can have a transition to/from and approach is automatically accounted for by the preceeding/following waypoint before/after the procedure. If BATC is reading the OFP correctly from Simbrief then your transitions should work and, if not, then that's an issue with BATC and not Simbrief. If you want BATC to know exactly what approach you wish to fly, that is a feature BATC will have to add.

Thank you for the tool and the video, totally awesome. @JohnVanderbeck6 ай бұрын
Really impressed at this, mostly because it actually works for GA planes and not just airliners! I also love the graphical depiction. Am I imagining things or has the ATIS format changed? I honestly didn't look at it in Navigraph much so this might not be true but it looked different when I pulled up NZCH just now to test. Almost looks more machine readable. Any chance this ATIS is maybe being exposed to others to read now? Would be great if something like Beyond ATC could read the ATIS here so as to have matching runway assignments.
@SimBrief6 ай бұрын
Thanks, glad you like it! Regarding the ATIS, it looks like this one was added by an online VATSIM controller, not sure why it's formatted that way. Beyond ATC is also free to hook into the VATSIM API to get ATIS data such as this, no need to go through us for that!
@JohnVanderbeck6 ай бұрын
@@SimBrief Ahh I didn't realize you were getting the ATIS from VATSIM. Unfortunately VATSIM has a ton of airports without ATIS so I thought you had your own setup for that :) No worries and thanks for this feature! @Navigraph - are you guesstimating your Airbus calculations for things like Flex temp and take-off speeds or did you work with Airbus on this because my understanding is that Airbus does not publish this kind of info in the public domain and keeps it confidential ? Your calculator generates quite different stats to, for example, the calculator in the fbw a320 NEO in MSFS
@Navigraphteam6 ай бұрын
Since this is a simulator tool, we don't have access to all of the manufacturer data that real-world tools might have. All flight simulator add-ons suffer from this to some extent, which is one reason why different add-ons might give different numbers. But it's also important to know that different numbers don't necessarily mean that one is "wrong" and one is "right". There can be a range of different values that one could use for a takeoff, depending on which part of the takeoff is being optimized. If you haven't seen it already, I encourage you to watch this video from A330 Driver which talks about exactly this concept: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoCzoY2IqLiafcU

Really nice feature.. Is pre-filling the RWY based on the plan and weather based on atis, on the roadmap?
@Navigraphteam6 ай бұрын
Hi! Currently the auto-populate button will fill in the runway from your latest flight plan, whereas entering an airport manually (without clicking auto-populate) will enter the current runway in use. The accuracy of SimBrief's runway in use might vary depending on the airport. For example, if there is an ATIS available for that airport SimBrief will get the runway from there, but for other airports it might be less accurate due to local procedures that we aren't aware always of. We recommend always double-checking what runway SimBrief has chosen against the current runway in use in the sim, just in case!
@vdwaal6 ай бұрын

Cool but where does it show THS (airbus) or Pitch Trim (Boeing)?
@Navigraphteam6 ай бұрын
Since SimBrief only supports setting the total number of passengers or cargo (and not where in the aircraft they are located), it is currently not possible for us to provide this. For example, the trim setting will change depending on if all the passengers are sitting in the front or in the back. Since SimBrief doesn't have a setting for this, we can't calculate a trim setting. However, many add-ons that feature an EFB will be able to provide a trim setting based on how you've set the aircraft payload. Feel free to post any suggestions to our developers in the following section of our forum: forum.navigraph.com/c/simbrief/feature-requests. This will help guide the development team.
