You can set up your assignment and prep for it before clicking on your assignment. So when you did the metal assignment you could start the production before you click the assignment, it just gives you a bit more time. It helps with items that are on long production.

You don’t have to wait until the end of the competition to put your park items back in your city. Once you have submitted your design they go right back in your storage.
