Well, assuming you order a physical copy, it saves you a lot of trouble waiting for it to arrive than if you ordered after release. It also saves you the pain of going to the store only to find out that they sold out... As for digital copies, it simply saves you the 2 - 3 minutes it takes on release day to fill out your billing information, and depending on the game, pre-ordering gives exclusive content.

You're speaking straight out of my soul... The naval missions ARE fun (even if simple) I absolutely adored all the characters from the homestead missions and the combat was fun. But I wish they actually made it an Assassin's Creed instead of America's Creed. Also you should definitely try out some of these, Psychonauts, Grim Fandango and Monkey Island. And possibly Antichamber, that game is an entire mindfuck...

I really hope they include volcanic eruption, tsunamis, blizzards, avalanches (in mountain terrain) floods and various other real disasters. maybe even some of the rare ones, including spontaneous explosion. (yes that is a real thing, caused by the water in the air after a rainfall, boiling which causes the oxygen to ignite)

Definitely do, Psychonauts is the epitome of underrated and the others are legends of games. Honestly I think ACIII could have been fantastic. They could have shown US getting the assassin guild started in the new world, all those wars being feigned by the Templars and much more. So much great potential, wasted... not nearly enough Assassin-Templar conflict...

I haven't purchased a physical copy since 2007. Receiving extra bling for digital pre-orders would only make sense if the bling was super rare and would somehow improve your playing experience. I haven't seen any game with that kind of pre-order deal yet. Also I don't want to pay a lot for a game I have zero information on (wait for reviews/demos/word of mouth)

Ok cool & yeah I think we can both agree that AC3 is hugely disappointing. However Iam curiously “optimistic” for AC4. Mainly because the lead Dev has said that stealth will be improved on (hopefully that means you can now crouch -_-), missions will involve less hand-holding basically you get your target and you decide how to approach and dispatch him, a new charismatic main guy (hopefully a better story & side characters also), and a true open world that you can sail around in your ship.

Well that's you; fortunately, there are several million other people who will still pre-order games. A lot of those people are returning customers who have faith in a company to deliver their best work. The people who play the Sims 1/2/3 would probably be the best example of this. Every single stuff/expansion pack comes with exclusive content that may "not be available for online-purchase. In games where cosmetics/aesthetics are everything, an exclusive set of furniture counts as "bling".

It's understandable that you are unaware about the criticisms of this game. It will be always-online. Your save game will be on their server, not on your computer. You will not be able to save your game and reload it later.

When the first trailer was out, I was pretty excited; finally, another proper SimCity game judging by the looks of it. Now, I'm not disappointed with the current SimCity because of disasters, no way, disasters make SimCity what it is. But... the art design, user interface, overall atmosphere and elements of "new" gameplay (e.g. devolved zoning method) just doesn't feel like SimCity. I know why they're making it like this since they want to link it to the Sims 3, but it just doesn't feel right.
