I LOVE that you're doing SimCity 2013. Now you're really my favorite KZbin Gamer. You're not bothered by what's popular or all that bad rap about the game, but just blazing the trail with what's interesting to play. TBH, I still really love the craftsmanship of this game despite all those bad rap. The music is amazing, the trade system is really interesting. Love the little animations, the design of buildings really look alive, and the fun little humorous touches in the city. Something I'd play again and again if I had the time and new ideas to try out.

hey Raptor very nice to see you playing this old classic anywho i have a bunch of notes i have collected that might help you to build the biggest cities given the size to work in 1. always start with dirt roads they are the cheapest and most cost effecient roads for starting out ( also most of the advanced road laying strategies revolve around measurements using the cost of dirt roads as a benchmark.) 2. make sure to choose townhall upgrades wisely these carry over to diffrent plots so if you want to turn raptoria west into a tourism destination ( by tourism i mean gambling ) then the upgrades to prioritize would be dept of transportation and the dept of tourism. once you have those you dont need those depts in another plot. another example would be if you want to build a college town then the upgrades would be dept of education utilities and transportation. 3. on the note of education realize that low wealth houses have more kids so per capita you will get more kids to educate if you go low wealth, However high wealth houses benefeit the most and are the quickest to educate below are my notes on trash education and recycling 1.a wealth determins base trash amount ( low wealth barely produce any trash while high wealth produce most trash) 1.b education determins the percentage of the household trash that is converted to recycling 1 c recycling has 3 components they are plastics, metal , and alloy in my test games recycling became profitable for 1 recycling plant if i had 60k high wealth ppl in my city 2 plants running it took 130k ppl 1 d realize that Students and kids are the same agent students and kids do not have ages and this is why you can just send them straight off to university 4. one recycling plant will feed one processor plant ( i.e if the recycling plant has 2 modules of alloy and 2 of plastics then it will feed one processor plant at full steam. 5. mods do indeed exist they are at simtropolis. com there are several to choose from just keep in mind that most of the mods are offline only and you have to manually install them keep it up this game still has some life in it i look foward to how this series develops

The most positive point of this amazing game, is that when you build the roads the system respects the imperfections of the land, if you build in a place that 18:33 will be natural following the terrain without interfering with the landscape, and in real life it is so, in critical cases it is necessary to terraforming to reduce erosion, ribance, ground levelling, and in Cities Skylines does not respect that, it is as if the game engineer was a follower of the theory of Flat Earth, if you build in an inadequate place, every residence creates a square block around to stay flat, on a unnatural way, if you try to put a spiral-shaped road on a mountain, get all crooked, and destroy the naturalness of the terrain, and don't keep up with the terrain level, that's something that Paradox could do in CS, from all those years since Studio Maxis closed, Paradox lost great chances to make CS get better and absorb good things from Sim City, weird how they took too long to actually make a DLC specialized in Industries, and also I wanted very much to see Paradox buy the rights of Sim City for them, so create a new game that will combine the good things that made SC and CS great!

There were some awesome things about this game, graphics to all the different things you can build and do. But the map size killed it. You can't implement an entire metals work thing in a city, or oil works, or full college town without running out of room. And basic things like airports or sea ports. You just run out of room. And no map editor either which is sad. Some easy tweaks; just one: make the city area massive. Like Sim City 4, it was amazing. City of Skylines is great. But unless you want to always play it online as mods only work online in most cases, and even then the way it's designed fewer things to build, and large interesting buildings become to easy where you become a maze of sky scrapers too easily. I liked how Sim City 4 had massive city areas to build a single city, and you develop surrounding areas that support each other including major cities in the entire region to get sophisticated skyscrapers, felt like you really achieved something when awesome high rises and commercial buildings were built.

Use your resources, man.....set up a recycling plant and use that to collect from both cities.....make sure you have it servicing for plastic, ally and metal. Once you have that down, pop up a micro processor plant and use your trade depot to sell. Can earn a lot of loot real fast that way....as long as your sims are smart enough.

Love your gameplay! can't wait for the next ep... one thing that bothers me. the buildings didn't upgrade when you put the parks. see the wealth map. the blue color related to the wealth of the citizens. they change their homes when the color gets darker, so the commercials. The upgrade happens when you change the roads and the people are ready. you can see if they are ready by clicking on houses.

I cannot stop playing this game Even though it has small maps... Regions like Titan Gorge and Viridian Woods have like 16 CITY PLOTS and 3-4 Great works That makes up for it and the soundtrack is a beautiful masterpiece plus some interesting things like you can interact with each and every sim and different unexpected humour Plus the trading is interesting Its better than people rate it EVIL EA wanted this to be an online only multiplayer game, that's the reason the maps are sooo small Maxis developed a great game but had to downgrade because of pressure from the EVIL EA

The maps are small because the game had performance issues back in 2013 due to Maxis focusing too much on the whole simulation thing with the water, electricity, etc. nodes travelling on roads, which was a heavy strain on PCs. They couldn't make the maps any bigger as it would have caused even bigger issues. It is very popular to hate on EA but Maxis made some bad decisions too.

It was a great concept, but I think there are some glitches with the mega-towers that never got entirely fixed, something about issues with the population using the different levels correctly, I can't really remember.

Honestly, I think without any DLC SimCity is overall better/more polished than Cities: Skylines. HOWEVER, Cities Skylines was half the price at launch. So if you want to spend $60 you could either get SimCity base game or Cities: Skylines with two or three DLC. And that puts Skylines ahead of SimCity in my book. EA is just overpriced, they are still selling SimCity 4 for $20!! The game is 15 years old!!

There was a specific city builder, from like 2006-2010. it was sort of like Societies (may have been that..) but i think another company made it. They had citizen classes like "haves" "have nots" "artsy people" stuff like that, do you remember that and what was it called?

What gets me is how much people complain about the map size......where unlike cities skylines.... You can have what,. like 12-13 total cities on one map? i think the max chunks you get to buy in skylines is what, 5 other squares? Oh, also played both. SimCity is far a better experience due to how it plays and acts... Skylines is.....well yeah. Also much like there's mods for "mulitplayer" in skylines...There's mods for extended maps in SimCity.... Just actually have to go looking for them since they're not handed to you like on steam

In C:S I prefer to unlock all 81 tiles and make the most massive cities I can; chock full of New York, Tokyo, and Dubai style buildings. I want to be able to spend hours detailing every little thing. I've always avoided city builder because they could never fill all the detailing and management itches I have. Until C:S that is.
