Day In The Life Of A US Marine - MOS School Edition

The posting on this channel are my own and don’t represent the Marine Corps’ positions or opinions. My topics are based mostly on personal experience and may vary for others joining the Marine Corps.
In this video, I go through a random day of daily routine here it MOS school and show you the food that is available here, the times I go to the gym, and some of the stuff I do on free time. This doesn’t represent what I do every single day, but gives you a rough estimate of it. Not every MOS school experience will be the same as mine, different MOS fields/bases may cause drastically different experiences. Hope you enjoy the video! @@simeon_kurosky Back in the day when I was training troops at Camp LeJeune NC. when ever I had a 96 hour leave I used to go to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC and put my name on a flight board. Then I would miss the flight and go back to base. We had a privet room with beer machines in the hallways. They also had 24 hour Mess Hall. They always called for a Military Taxi to meet me at the Main Gate and take me to Transport Barracks. Being a Vietnam vet they treated us like gold. That was a two way street.

My MOS school was on a Navy base (in Pensacola just up the road from you) but we had students from all four branches. The AF students were in the same style barracks but had carpet & wooden furniture while we were on old style metal racks. They also received an additional stipend for having to live below AF standards. lol

6EQUJ5 when do marines get bah? I’ve looked it up on google but some people say e-5 and others say e-6. I’ve thought about joining the marine corp after my Air Force enlistment but jeez you guys move out of the barracks so late. I moved out of the dorms at e-3 X D. I can’t imagine staff sergeants living in the dorms stateside that would be hilarious.

I loved this video! Great content. I'm army from way back, but it's interesting to see what marines do compared to the army. I took an early out in '94, but I served in the Finance Corps (the reserves), during the Iraq war until December of 2008. The exercises y'all were doing are similar to what we did in basic training in '81 at Ft Jackson, SC. That food and your rooms are far superior to what we had during the "cold war", but you guys deserve it! I respect all of you a lot!

I’m a LCpl in the fleet now 7051 Crash Fire Rescue at MCAS Miramar San Diego CA and the fleet is a much better time than MOS school you’ll have a good time

i was airforce worked on f-35s as a mechanic and had did my tech training at eglin afb in 2016. I remember airforce and marines were always getting into fights since we shared the same dorm building and navy would just shake their heads lol. Fort walton was a nice area lot of stuff to do there

Hey Lance Corporal, Great Vidéo that you’ve posted today. I already applied by signing the beginning paperwork to enter the United States Marine Corps as MOS 0231 Intel Linguist Reservist. I’m aware that my MOS school is 12 weeks Long so I’m gonna be Active Duty for a couple of months before I comeback home. Do Marines get Liberty to go out of town and visit family and friends on the weekends? Also do you own a car if so are you allowed to bring one to MOS school (assuming you don’t for Boot and MCT). Sinopa Hyenith-Renard hey brother! So specifically based on my experience we can’t have cars at MOS school. Not sure if there’s any that allow it but during student status I don’t think so. Normally you would be able to go off base but due to corona virus I haven’t been able to leave base. Hopefully by the time you join it starts clearing up

During MOS school you stay in the barracks, once you’re in the fleet that opens up your options to live in a house. I’m not 100% sure on that but I’m quite confident. All the married friends I have have live in the barracks.

Serious Question, Would you get in trouble it you use vape products or alcohol underage while at MOS school? I starting vaping at 18 but the federal law changed it and I’m enlisting Marines and don’t want to get NJPed for a small thing is it worth the risk or should I quit until I’m 21?

Sinopa Hyenith-Renard once you get there, they’ll let you know how the rules are for that specific school. Some are different. Alcohol drinking isn’t allowed obviously until 21 but the majority don’t allow it in the barracks period. At my last school vapes wasn’t allowed at all but here it is. Just make sure to ask them when you get there 👌🏼

Tabaco products are now Federally illegal until you are 21. Its the same as drinking. The Marine Corps recognizes this now and you will get in the same amount of trouble as you would for drinking underage.

Depends on your MOS school but yes the majority of the time you can! Just not during school hours on PT time. During that time you’ll be wearing the green on green PT gear. But when you’re working out on your own time after school hours you can wear you own PT clothes just like I was in the video because it was later in the day

I went to NAS Pensacola, Florida for A-school, and then went to Eglin Airforce Base for C-school so my experience can be a lot different than other schools of course

My son is currently in Marine Corps bootcamp. His MOS is aviation electronics technician. We were told that he would go to NAS Pensacola for A school. Do you know if he will go to a C school and how long that would be? I have searched everywhere and can't find out much info on C school.

chris rowden I’ll have to double check with some of my avionics buddies but their schools are a lot longer than other MOS. Over 6 months total I believe but I’ll double check. And yes, he’ll go to Pensacola for A school and where he goes for C-school depends on what aircraft he’s specializing in

Denny the vape man he’s going to Pensacola Florida for MOS school. He’ll be selected for an aircraft. My friends that were aviation mechanics didn’t get to pick their aircraft so it’s probably random. He could be Harriers, F35s, etc. The aircraft he gets chosen for will determine where he will go for C-school. If it’s F35s like me it’ll be in Destin, Florida.

Denny the vape man even though MOS school can have a lot of restrictions. Let him know to take advantage of it! It’s a lot of free time. You go to school for short hours and get paid to do it and the food is great! Just tell him to stay out of trouble and study hard and he’ll have a blast

Christopher Gonzalez BCAAs and preworkout mostly. Haven’t taken protein shakes much anymore because we always have food supplied to us. Supplements aren’t always necessary. Focus on diet and getting a scheduled workout schedule before worrying about that tbh

Bill Holtzman about 3 months. Both of my friends in the video are aviation mechanics. The first school in Pensacola is about 1 month then your second school is 2 months
