shame you haven't used the MFGs. I would have liked a comparison. I have the MFGs with the damper right now and they are incredibly precise but don't mount well to my new NLR flight stand pro. Eyeing these because supposedly they work better with it. Not sure I like how they travel in an arc though rather than flat forward and back.

Great review. I've had these for more than a year and already thought they were the best on the market even with all the competition today. Then, this weekend, I removed the springs and added a 13" Adjustable Motorcycle Steering Damper to it instead. Man, now they are even better. I fly mostly helicopters or warbirds in DCS, and a great pair of pedals are really needed IMHO. Now 1 - there is much more realistic resistance (making taxiing both easier), and 2 - they stay where I put them, making for a much more realistic helicopter experience. I can highly recommend these pedals. Thanks for your video. Your channel is really awesome, and you're doing great work.

Hi from France, bought my TPR from a guy who have been using it for years. As it is very stiff and strong it's a great deal to buy it already used for those who don't want to pay the full price. And yes, it's doing a great job

I got these about a year ago and they're such a game changer. I mostly fly general aviation and especially conventional landing gear aircraft like the Piper Cub and DC-3. The TPR Rudder Pedals are definitely expensive, but they're very accurate and are built to last a lifetime. If you can afford to spend that much on rudder pedals, they're worth it in my opinion.

Had my TPR (after trying 3 others) for 4 years now and found it almost perfect. I modded it for the steering damper mod (Just search on YT) and that made them perfect. Took away the springy return and gave them almost real feedback which can be modified with the damper knob (especially beneficial for choppers)

Pros: - full metal, sturdy construction - adjustable - precise - they only rudder pedals I know which can enhance the decor of your room, looking like aviation-grade thing, brought directly from a real plane (brushed aluminum and intricate pendulum construction). Cons: - the pedals are mounted relatively high from the floor, so if you want to operate the brakes, you can't rest your heels on the floor or the pedals itself which may be considered not so comfortable.

Bought the TPRs in July 2020 shortly after getting the Warthog HOTAS. Brilliant pedals and extremely lifelike (C172) especially with the damper mod. Good to know they aren't too heavy for a motion rig if I eventually spend more time in VR than flatscreen 🙂

These look like great pedals! I’m trying to decide on my first set atm. I’m looking at MFG, Virpil ACE, Slaw (my current favorite) and a few other brands. The build quality on the TPR’s looks very impressive and they look comfortable to use. I love looking at flight sim gear but I hate shopping for it because there’s too many good choices! Lol Also the narrator’s voice has good ASMR values - he should do meditation videos!

I've had these rudder pedals for about 6 months. They are perfect and are the only ones to allow the true geometry found in an airplane. It's true that the pedals are further apart than in many planes but this is not a detail that harms its use. All competing models do not even allow you to use the rudder as in real life, heel to the floor and toe on the pedals. This is probably the main reason TPR offer better precision. Like in a car, we keep our heel on the floor and pivot the foot on accelerator or brake pedal. And in real plane we only lift our heels to brake for a precise and progressive braking. They are well worth their higher price as they are the only true rudder pedals on the market.
@andymilton6248
@andymilton6248 Жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, had mine for 3 years now and they are a great set of pedals. Just watch out though for the small casting that attaches to the pedal to mount the toe brake link. The raised ‘collar’ part of that mounting which is threaded will break out the side if too much brake pressure is applied. They can actually be turned round and the ball connector screwed into the other side although it won’t aline quite as designed. Cheers Andy

After going through 3 separate pedals from competitors I gave in and purchased the over-priced Thrustmaster TPR Rudder pedals and with confidence I can say you could kill a man in a bar fight with these things! They are ALL-METAL constructed and will probably outlive me. If you were like me and tired of wasting money on cheaper yet brittle built rudder pedals, then just cave in and purchase the TPR Rudder pedals from Thrustmaster, they will be the last rudder pedals you will ever need to buy. 🤗

Like many others below, I too have had these excellent padals for a few years now. Congrats on your purchase Mark , however if you really want to get closer to reality, I strongly recommend that you remove the centering springs that come installed on the pedals. You are certainly aware that real aircraft, don't come with self centering springs on the rudder pedals, nor does one find springs on the joysticks.
@ambrosiusbarbeier9516
@ambrosiusbarbeier9516 Жыл бұрын
The wind pressure on the flight surfaces in real aircraft provides a force that keeps moving the rudder back to the central position if not countered by foot pressure, so the spring mechanism is closer to reality then a freely moving pedal.

Hi Mark. I got the Thrustmaster's TPR (Pendular Rudder) a year ago. They are great. And they are my FIRST rudder pedals. I remember over the years, at the now dead, Flight Sim show in Cosford, I had the opportunity to try several rudder pedals in the £ 90 to 200 range. Well, they were all rubbish. No way I would waste money on rubbish. These Thrustmaster's TPR (Pendular Rudder), however, are great, but be aware that they are very sensitive to static electricity, as they are all metal. When it is hot in London where I live, with carpet 7 centimeter under the wooden frame I built for them. In hot weather, as soon as I move my feet from the carper to the unit, I hear a USB sound, then the Thrustmaster's TPR (Pendular Rudder) stop working. To make them work again, unplug and replug. But this was no a solution on hot days, as they would keep stop responding! I took an electric cable, a plug, and put ONLY the Earth cable on the plug, and plugged it to an electrical socket, and I put the other end on the FRONT RIGHT bolt. At the back it would not fix the issue, but at the front no problem: even with an USB sound, the Thrustmaster's TPR (Pendular Rudder) keep working. Of course, do not put the cable on the Live!!! EDIT: Search on YT for Thrustmaster TPR static electricity, and you will see it is a common thing. I contacted Thrustmaster, and they were very helpful, and confirmed they are sensitive to static electricity. They even proposed to check them in France, to see if they were faulty, but with my solution, they work, even if I rub my feet on the carpet and just after touch the unit. This ONLY happens when above 30 Celsius.

Can you do a (quick) rundown of your hardware, in particular the stand you are using in this video? I already have the GT Omega APEX wheel stand for my TMX Wheel and Pedals and I'd like something similar for my flight sim gear (namely my Saitek Yoke + extra Throttle Quadrant, Thrustmaster Warthog + gooseneck extension for helicopters and Thrustmaster TFRP pedals) for which I am contemplating the GT Omega Classic Wheelstand.

I replaced my old CH Pedals for these in 2019 and used them until april 2024. I was quite happy with them and thought that these are abolutely top notch in the segment... until i got my Slaw Device Viper RX V3 Pedals last month. The TPR are realy good pedals, especially the pendular system is a joy to use. But tbh, they are overpriced and should not be at a higher pricetag than the MFG Crosswinds or the Virpil ACE Rudders, wich both provide the same quality and precision at 300€ - 350€. If you´re willing to spend that much money for rudder pedals, better put another 200€ on top for the Slaw Viper Rudders and get the best home pc pedals money can buy.

I’ve had the TPRs for about 8 months and about a month ago I added the damper and removed the springs and really love the feel of them now. The damper is also adjustable and I set mine just above lowest setting. With the damper in place you can take your feet off for a rest or repositioning without losing control of the aircraft, especially helicopters. I find I can achieve fine control by using the balls of my feet or even just the big toes. Love this device.
