Lovely. For me it's the white one because I can see all the incredible details. Embossing, gilding, layers. It's just lovely. I think this might lend itself very well to a southwestern theme of blue and copper patinas. Just seems that it would be perfect!

Definitely the light one because all the elements stand out better....when so many layers are added it is nice when they all shine. That being said, I love the dark one and think it would be brilliant on a colored panel.

I love the way the words stand out better on the white one. The black is pretty too, but would look better on maybe a light green or goldish card. Very interesting and reminds me a little bit of steampunk.

I do like both tiles, but , I like using black mostly. I love using my twinkling h2o and painting an embossed image. The embossing prevents the paint from bleeding over .

Hi. Thanks for sharing another of your marvelous videos. I liked the shine on the black one but I must be starting to come out of my Christmas card making stage and coming into birthday card mode now as I thought that the colours of the white one were perfect for it. These are great little tiles. I'm pleased that the white comes out as nice (or nicer) than the black. Sometimes shimmery things show so much better and truer on black. Do you ever use black cardstock as your base card? I like to suggest a little arrow on the back of that text stamp so you always know which way is up. Until the next experiment...

Love both the little tiles, I used to do mixed media canvases, cards etc but haven’t for ages. CAS became my preference a few years ago. But, your last few videos have made me want to do it again as it works wonderfully for CAS cards as you have shown. I’ve ordered 2 sets of the gilding gum (couldn’t stretch to all 3). I’m looking forward to receiving them and having a play 😊

Based on the whole finished composition the white one does seem to show all the elements and colors best (and benefits from the added reflectivity of the backdrop gold lattice piece), especially the stamped text. Pretty sure the heart wreath die is the Memory Box Blooming Heart Wreath. Loved watching the evolution of both pieces!

Both of these tiles are gorgeous but I think, just watching on video, that I too prefer the white base. I really liked the two colours you brushed onto the tiles. I will go and look at how you have finished the cards. A very helpful video, as always. Thank you. Oh, and if you intend to do more heat embossing of small pieces Christine, if you hold your card piece with a wooden clothes peg, it saves your fingers from the heat. I learned the hard way :(

When you previously speculated on the possibility of Memory Box manufacturing dies for Simon Says Stamp, I did a little investigating and it appears that Memory Box makes dies for SSS, Poppy Stamps, Birch Press Designs, and possibly, Cottage Cuts. If you search the SSS site, these other dies come up as well. There weren’t ant Cottage Cuts dies but I’m almost possible there were a few when I checked the first time. You must have missed my comment letting you know. 😊 The tiles are lovely. I think the colors used complement the white base more.

I love the white one. I didn’t know you could emboss using a die, I still don’t understand why that didn’t cut the card stock because the cutting side was on the card stock, I just do t get it ?

It's scary the first-time you do it, but the rubber mat absorbs the pressure somewhat so that the die merely makes an impression on the card rather than cutting all the way through. You can't emboss with dies without a rubber mat.😊

Rubber mats are sometimes supplied with die cutting machines, but can be purchased separately.
