Hi Christine, I love all your cards! I am a cardmaker for 25 years and a collector. However you won 😆 in having the biggest collection of tools and materials. Some of those are old and I have the same and I can see which stamps are from Europe and which are from America. That is fun. I am a German living in Canada and I have the adventage of both different tools to use. Thank you for everything 🙋♀

Love the experimentation, thanks for the video. A couple tips for this technique: Regular mica powder does not have a binder, so it can wipe off the paper, but perfect pearls includes a binder. I use a little blending gel for acrylics or plain glycerin in my water mister and it seems to add enough to make powders without binder stick to the paper.

I was playing with Brushos a few weeks ago & picked up the wrong spritzer bottle...it was the one which had Perfect Pearls dissolved in it. That gave a lovely shimmer effect, but was a little unexpected. I think it might be easier than sieving on the mica powder. All of your cards are beautiful BTW.
@Chrissieannie2 жыл бұрын
I have done this too, the spray is more diffused this way and you can have just a tiny touch with using the powder directly... But either way is great!
@lindaanderson22922 жыл бұрын
I was actually going to suggest that rather than using plain water to spritz, add some mica powder to the water spray bottle. Maybe a bit easier than using the sieve and a better dispersal of the mica.
@Chrissieannie2 жыл бұрын
If you add mica to the water then the effect would be all over, whereas adding it separately it could be placed in specific areas, it depends what look you fancy I guess!

I LOVE mica powders! Like the sieve idea 🙂(use it all the time in the kitchen) will have to give it a try in the card room - maybe in the glass studio too 😲🤣. I bought some little spray bottles. Put a good 1/4" of any color mica powder in the bottom. Filled 3/4 full of water. Shake it up WELL & spray. I use it to gently spray over top of cards. Gives a soft "sparkle" of color & iridescence etc . Some colors are better than others. Some colors more potent, some more subtle etc. The experimenting is FUN :) Can gently spray with fine hair spray to seal - I usually don't -but you can. Enjoy the joy of just being creative.

@@Chrissieannie yes do! While you were doing the second piece using the mica powder I wondered that myself. I thought perhaps it might disappear under the Brusho pigments - especially in the more dense areas but you won't know without playing!
@careena82422 жыл бұрын
I love using these techniques. One thing I do with the stencil 'print' is to leave it a little longer on the paper once I've dabbed off the excess water with the paper towel. I think it gives a slightly better impression because the pigments sink into the paper if you leave the stencil in place for a little bit longer. :)

These are gorgeous! I wonder if you used shimmer spray (I made some from another KZbinr’s video with loose eye shadow, water and hair spray I think) instead of plain water and then you wouldn’t have to add the mica. Also it would have the hair spray to make the mica stick. You’ve inspired me to give it a try! I do like your idea of using a sieve for the mica though, very clever of you! 💕
