I am Thai from Assam and there are lots of Thai groups staying here in Northeast India mainly Assam and Arunachal. I heard that Meitei people are Tai Lai which is one of the Tai groups. There are currently 6 Tai Groups in India called Tai Khamti, Tai Aiton, Tai Phake, Tai khamyang, Tai Turing, and Tai Ahom along with Singpho community. Our language is almost the same with Tais of Myanmar and Thailand. We called Pillow as Mon hu Mon means that pillow and Hu means our head. I can give you some similar words with Thailand For example 2 is called Song, 3 is called Sam, 4 is called Si and goes like that thirty is called Sam sip, 50 called Ha sip. Mango is called Mamung. People from our place used to visit Myanmar in festivals. And we all are Buddhism here, All Tai ethnic groups here follows Buddhism. We Celebrate Songkran here but we called that as Sangken here in India We called Mae, Po for Mother, Father here 😂

Dhuk, renchu, are words from Hindi for actual. In hindi, it's called Dhoop, litchee and Ema is like universal, in Israel too they used the same word Ema. Che for sister is a short way of addressing respect to an elder sister. In Manipur, when we address to anyone without name we usually put E as prefix coz E means blood in Manipuri, and E is used so as to imply that we are related in bloods and that we are part of our family. Words like Epa, Ema, Eche, Eyaamba(brother), Ebhai( brother in law), Edhou( grandfather) and so on, infact all terms to address to any relatives starts with a letter E. And, the word Meikhet when elaborately speaking Mei means fire and Khet means slide or strike. Anyway thanks for making this video and showing us the similarity of words of two different countries. With love from Manipur.

As like the tai Ahoms, tai Khamtis, tai Phakeys of Assam & Arunachal Pradesh of India the Meitei community of Manipur ( Major portion of Manipur belongs from this Meitei community. Meitei Ethnic group represents more then 53% of Manipur's total population) are from Thailand, Shan State or Yuhan Province. According our Tai Ahom scriptures & other royal chronicles of Meitei of Manipur, the Meitei community of Manipur are originally from Tai community who had come to the region from Northeast Thailand via Myanmar before the Tai Ahoms came in 1228 AD to North East India. So, many tai words from the meitei people have been included in today's Manipuri language. This is the reason why many words are similar in Manipuri & Thai( or Tai) language.
