I am from Manipur. I'm so surprised by the fact that Thai and manipuri have so many similarities🤩. I really love this video❤. Finally we are getting recognised 🤧. And a quick reminder The sticky rice is called chaa how. For yong chak you said you like aamotpa but it's actually aamétpaa and not aamotpa. amazing video😚❤

I think more more than Manipuri, Thai culture is similar with Khampti (thai -khampti) tribe from Arunachal Pradesh, they also celebrate Sangken Festival and their traditional attire looks exactly with thai
@o0...9572 жыл бұрын
They are called tai khamti, not Thai khamti. And from what I learned the reason is because Thai language is heavily influenced by the local tai community in Thailand. Tai people are mainly found in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Yunnan province of China and Northeast India(Assam and Arunachal). There are multiple tai communities here in northeast like you mentioned tai khamti , then tai Phake, tai aiton, tai khamyang, tai sinpho(from what I heard they are also called Jinpho towards China), and another one Tai Ahom, even though there aren't any speakers of this language now their literature survived and is undergoing revival. And they are actually somewhat intelligible to each other. Like if there's some tai ahom song in KZbin (part of the process of reviving the language probably) or a Tai Khamti language you may find Thai, or Burmese people saying they could actually understand the song in comments.

So sweet for bringing the two communities with similarities...i myself have been researching how meiteis originated from which place ....meiteis are a mixture of many people but the food culture remains same or almost same since olden times ....actually thai originated from dai people in china and meiteis too ....we worshipped dragon lions just like chinese and they are kept infront of gate to guard against evils .....we eat ngaris and hawaijar ...and chakhaos ....these chakhaos or black rice were called forbidden rice and reserved only for royalties ...so when kings migrated to manipur they brought chakhaos ...our meitei king who brought chakhaos was called Poreiton......and we also make silk clothes and silk produced from silkworm these were brought by chinese people who came and settled in manipur and mixed with meiteis ....horse riding and thang ta martial art sword fighting similar to chinese too .
