I love that you don't jump on the 'fad' wagon. You truly think about the perfumes and are honest in your reviews. So many promote these perfumes (for their own likes/popularity). You are the only YT middle eastern reviewer, I trust. I've been burned by others who raved about scents only to get them and they were horrible! LOL Then I would come to your channel and sure enough you too hated the perfume! LOL Because you are so thorough in explaining the notes, how they smell....I know which ones that you review will be my type or not. Another note, although I enjoy your haul videos, I wait until you've worn the perfume, let it macerate...and then do a deeper review before I consider buying the perfume. THANK YOU for your dedication to putting out good content!

Great info! I do wish people would say if they're talking about if their fragrances were macerated or not though. Because if they're just talking about first sniff then they got rid of it soon after it could change what they thought about it later. 🤷♀️ Like I really did not like Untold Club de Nuit at first because it smelled like gasoline at first 🤢, but now I really like it after having it for a few months. 😄 I love your videos, always very informative. ❤
@chandracox68148 ай бұрын
Yes! Maceration is everything with Middle Eastern fragrances but even if it doesn't need to macerate, I will keep a fragrance for years before I declutter it. My taste in fragrances have changed so much so I always keep everything I get no matter if I like it or not.

Again, I'll also comment on how subjective a scent can be, which I personally find exceptionally interesting!! Although not love at first sniff, I now absolutely love Qaed al Fursan Unlimited, I want to drown in it, especially now that it's getting warmer. I also love Laheeb (I wish it lasted longer though) and my newest purchase Ameer al Oudh. I can't do "dirty" or "earthy" perfumes though, to me they smell like mould, which makes me gag, so I tend to avoid patchouli and moss in fragrances. Have a great weekend!!

Hello! These videos are very interesting because they allow us to see how different perceptions we have regarding the same perfume, given that the effect they have on us is very subjective. After some disappointment, I now try to buy samples before buying a whole bottle, even if I can try them in a perfume shop because many perfumes on the skin evolve differently from the aroma perceived in the strips and the temperature and ambient humidity also influence . Thank you very much for your videos.

Oh nooo… I must be weird because I actually like Sondos.. also like Al Andaleeb.. they both are definitely “perfumey” but work really nice on me; kinda in the same realm as LVEB. Nice for layering. The one that I never could wear even after maceration, is Shaghaf Oud. Infini Rose was a tough one, too. Your laugh is so funny, love your reactions!

Hi my hun ❤, love the video . Still proudly wearing Opulent Red , even though it is number 2 on this list. 😅 I guess based on compliments that I get when wearing it , no one smells anything bad on me , which is a relief . 😉 Perhaps the notes and scent changes when it is worn on people with the ' right' body chemistry . It'so interesting to hear all the hated perfumes. We all have different tastes but there are some most of us seem to like . I feel the ones we either love or hate are obviously polarising perfumes, so they are perfumes loved or hated NOTHING IN BETWEEN 🤣, they say there is thin line between love and hate. Perhaps this is the same with perfumes. Then there are some perfumes a lot like or say that they are OK but not loved or hated. So no real passion is involved with these scents. I feel I got a bad batch of Oud Mood as I love oud and rose as well and love the dry down of Shaghaf Oud so it should have been a like or love for me. It smells really sharp , I have sprayed a lot in the air and let it macerate for 1 month, retried and it was the same. I am leaving it to macerate for a year or so and then will check it again. I feel Shaghaf Oud was a shock to me as it was one of the first ever Middle Eastern perfumes, but I was intrigued from first sniff, a sort of perfume coma happened. I love the dry down of that perfume but still feel the top notes or the first 20 or so minutes of this are a touch too much for me but I still will wear it, so I should really love Oud Mood. Sending smoochies to dear Markus and purrs from Pushkin and Sunti. So much love to you, my beautiful angel❤💫

I find it disappointing when people comment negatively about a fragrance after only one spray. This kind of mindset can cause them to miss out on some genuinely beautiful scents - imo. As for myself, I discovered the concept of macerating my perfumes by chance. It all started with Oakcha, the brand that introduced me to niche fragrances. Initially, I was taken aback by how Ineffable (Aventus) and Sinful (Lost Cherry) smelled after opening and spraying them. A week later, I was surprised to find that they had completely transformed into the beauty it inspired to be. It took a few more bottles for me to realize what was happening, but now I am confident in my knowledge of maceration and its uniqueness to my fragrance collection.
@chandracox68148 ай бұрын
Exactly. I highly doubt it. People tend to declutter after trying a fragrance once and it's so frustrating!! It doesn't give the fragrance a chance at all, especially Middle Eastern fragrances that need to macerate!

I have a few that I don’t like recently. In order from worst to least bad: 1) Maison Alhambra Rose Petals ~ this one could make me gag. It smells like an infected wild animal rolled around in some patchouli and then you smelled it. 2) Zimaya Al Fouz ~ mainly because it is disappointing. I expected something similar to Armaf CDN Untold but it has an artificial musk smell that overpowers and gives it a diaper/cleaning product quality. The production date was January this year, so perhaps the musk will break down over time. 3) Lattafa Badee Al Oud Amethyst ~ I like this sometimes but I often get the burnt rubber smell that people describe. And I worry that it would be far too offensive for people who pick up the burnt rubber since it is a projection beast. 4) Zimaya Impulse Oud ~ this isn’t bad but it smells like a mature woman who has just changed a diaper. The baby product note seems to pervade Zimaya musks. The rose note is also very potent and concentrated, so it is far from a fresh profile. 5) Maison Alhambra Baroque Rouge Extrait ~ a barely there scent of rubber gloves and very weak jasmine. I have just been using it as room spray. Creed Aventus for Her is probably my favourite scent profile and Al Haramain L’aventure Femme is definitely similar but the dry down is weird. It does last longer than Creed but goes into the weird dry down, so I am not sure how much that counts for. I can’t smell the creed anymore after about 40 minutes. The best I have smelled recently have been Zimaya Sharaf Blend, Armaf CDN Untold, and Rasasi Qasamat Rasana. Rasana definitely smells the most well-blended.

Simin, do not let that individual opinion put you off Orientica's Velvet Gold! There is no fecal smell and it's just a beautiful caramel, rose and powdery fragrance! The "animal notes" translate to musk on my skin and they add depth and longevity to the fragrance. The violet in the perfume gives it a powdery/lipticky vibe that I find addictive, like Gentle Fluidity Gold but way stronger, more projecting and longer lasting.

I recently purchased Al Haramain L'aventure femme and I was verrrry disappointed. In all honesty, I've never sampled Creed AFH but I just thought it sounded like a really nice everyday fragrance that could be versatile. All I got from it was citronella bug spray over a dated rose and musk.....I knew even with maceration it couldn't be saved LOL. IMO it's a total mish-mash if scents laying under a citrus bomb. A part of me tried to find the appeal but it was just too overwhelming and uncomfortable to wear. A big NO for me. Even though I did not pay a lot for this scent I was so thankful I was able to return it and get my money back!

My most disliked fragrances are - Dubai. I didn't get the mango note everyone else gets. I believe it had to be a batch problem because the juice I got was terrible! There were no mangoes whatsoever. I had to return it. After doing a quick research - I’ve learned that each fragrance has a note of apricot in it. These three fragrances- Sweet Sin by Vivamor, Miel Extase by Navitus, and Teriaque by Lattafa were instant scrubbers. I think it's fair to say I’m not too fond of the smell of apricot.

What an interesting take on some of these scents! I wanted to add my reaction to some of them and also my dislikes... Opulent Red - first reaction was a horrified "wwwwhhhhyyyyy?!". It smelled like gasoline. I scrubbed it and it still smelled. I've had it for a while now and it's finally something I really like. I finally get the sweet smells and no gasoline. But it took forever. Opulent Musk - I had issues with this one initially as well, with a bit of a gasoline trail. This has finally gotten to a pretty wearing experience. Bright Peach - first I was like, meh. Now it smells both peachy and green and I like it a lot. Here are my difficult ones Berlinetta. I just can't. I'm not sure why. It just smells so wrong to me. Confidential Private Gold - I've had this one forever and it still smells like gasoline and sweet fruit. Bleh. I Am The Queen - smells like mild gasoline with a lot of mild sweet freshness :( And of course Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited - I don't hate it, I just really don't like it. I kept trying. Just realized yesterday that it smells like condensed milk to me and it's just a nope

Hi, how lovely that you did not give up on Opulent Red ( I am keeping all the perfumes for at least a year to let so so perfumes macerate) . I am one of the rare people ( besides my dearest friend in Germany who blind bought it after I told her I loved it, the same with Amethyst, she loves both of these and they have become her signature scents as well) who loved Opulent Red at first sniff, perhaps mine was an older batch and my love has grown so it is a signature scent for me. I have had a woman run after me to enquire what beautiful perfume I was wearing, also when I go to our letterbox someone was walking her dog and she asked me what the name was of that lovely perfume was I was wearing. Mind you by that stage it was in the dry down of the perfume where it becomes so warm and enticing. I think what some people perceive as a gasoline note ( I have not smelled this ever, I am now on my second bottle and none had this note to my nose) is a combination of pink pepper , the sharpness of the blood orange and perhaps even the alcohol at the start. I also feel there is a leather note in Opulent Red which is not mentioned. I seem to like perfumes that are considered polarising. 🤣 Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited shocked me and I hated it and still would never ever wear that one. Ajwad Pink To Pink which some people hate , is SOTD and I love it so much. The guava notes dance on my skin and I love the dry down so much I am addicted. Love the leather note and slightly animalic quality, the sort of strange combination of fruits , rose and leather , moss etc. I think some people again smell something so sharp when they spray that perfume. I think it is so fascinating the way we smell things so differently. I know that after I got very ill, I got so bored with my ( very expensive) perfumes and discovered Middle Eastern perfumes by ' accident' and love how I seem to be able to smell ME perfumes on myself and not get nose blind to these. Warm regards, from sunny Tasmania 🦘

@@tiamurrell963 Oh for so long I got just a vague sweetness and a smoky gasoline with Opulent Red! No idea why I decided to keep it and keep trying but at some point it just switched and I was like OH MY. And now I really like it! And that, quite honestly it went I keep blind buying. I do admit, if someone said they got a diesel motorpool scent to something I might snatch it. I have some nostalgia there
@tiamurrell9638 ай бұрын
@@hilaryraydecker1151 😅 I hear you, I have a scent memory of my father and I on his yacht in Berlin, the scent of the motor, I cannot describe it but once it a while I smell something similar ( plus the scent of the water and the forests all around us) that to me is lovely as I see my beloved father who passed away in 2020 and the happy days spent on the yacht. It was our thing, my step mum got seasick so it was just my Papi and I. But going back to topic, my opened bottle of Opulent Red got better and better and richer to me. I am have no sprayed the third bottle as well to let it macerate ( please don't judge , I have 4 back up bottles in case that it gets discontinued and will buy them in bulk if I hear anything like this) as maceration does do more magic to this perfume than I anticipated, perhaps because I loved it so much from first sniff. I love leather notes, again a scent memory of my first love, a slight suede leather note, with a hint of patchouli and ambergris, moss and musk and something else I am forever searching for. So when I read a fruity floral done well with a soft leather note, I run towards this. That is my weakness. Nostalgia plays such a huge part in our love for certain notes, I feel. I love Khaltat Gold Royal Blends as I can smell my grandmother's apple cakes baking, cinnamon , cloves and nutmeg, and once again that hint of patchouli, amber and musk that takes me into another direction. I sort of feel most of the perfumes I really love are about nostalgia and memories of loved ones or loved places. Even Rare Passion has a note in it that is magically nostalgic to me ( a slight tobacco note, although it is not mentioned but I smell this and I think Simin also did). Of course some perfumes wow us just because they smell so amazing. Lovely to read your comment. If you find another perfume with that diesel motor pool note, please LET ME KNOW what it is , and whether it is any good !! 🤣
