Seemed crazy. Recurved as a gift. This entire line of flyweight I think is customizable to me. I literally made fun of this vid a year ago and sent to my friends. Now i own it and finally have an entire customizable line. When I’m wade fishing I use it as my belt. Then I live to drift boat season and it’s attached to top of wader bin. Live Simms. Hated this idea. Now it’s the best I’ve ever bought from them. I hope to get one of the two sizes of packs. Credit to simms for not editing comments. Every comment in here is negative and not removed.

Fishpond has the right idea with their hip pack. Rather than having to basket weave your pack onto your belt, you can actually slide the pack on a rail system from back to front. No need to unbuckle the belt to access the pack. I miss when Simms used to actually innovate. Plus, I'm finding that their higher end gear isn't holding up anymore.

Are you kidding me? Not only is that honeycomb design hideous, you have to be a basket weaver to use it. By far the worst design idea (of many) that Simms has ever had. Now they have even ruined the look of their waders, which was the only thing they still had going for them. Oh well, I guess my next pair of waders will be Patagonia’s after thirty years of Simms.

You consider time tested MOLLE basket weaving? If it's been good enough for US troops for over 20 years it's good enough for you.The advantage of hex grid as opposed to MOLLE is you can attach either vertically or at 45 degree left or right. The "basket weaving" btw is so your packs don't flop around and if a button comes undone its still not going to come off...

if you weave properly over and under as shown, even if a button comes undone it's not going to come off, although i do agree one side should be permanently affixed like every other molle pack
