Soooo Dope! Thanks for sharing your story, LPJ. I’ve found some fly anglers to be the most cool and generous people in the world- I’ve also had rocks thrown at me, been threatened from the bank, and have heard my share of N-bombs while getting suited up in the lot. Like you, I was never gonna let some asshat keep me from doing what I love. I’m sure some of the people who view this will run right past the fact that this is YOUR story. If you’re upset or offended but the way this cat navigates his life and society that’s most definitely a YOU problem.

Simms should focus more on quality in their production because you’ve been slipping. It’s also a joke to market a product as “Made in the USA” when the rest comes from China. Soon it will be over anyway-welcome Donald Trump and +25% tariffs on Chinese goods.

Im from Small town E. Helena Mt. Had always had a passion for fishing growing up low income bullied no pops. Fly fishing was all I've had to keep me going after 12. I'm blessed to have the Missouri river in my back yard. But only can dream of a fish the size on Lael Paul's wall. Someday I want to fish with this group of guys. Looks like they had an amazing time on the river. I'd love to take my man Rich Harrell out there in our lifetime. #blessed. Fly fishing is what the world needs man. @@SimmsFishingProducts

How is fly fishing racist 😂
@hooks4nooksАй бұрын
It's not! I grew up here in the NW and live here. No reason to be scared fishing here if you're a person of color. My best friend since 4th grade is black and we fish a ton of NW anadromous fisheries. I'm 56 now. I don't know, maybe I didn't get the jist, but not what I was expecting from Simms. Just like the media, blowing shit up more than it is.
@PokeBaltzАй бұрын
How is this your takeaway from the film? People like you hear buzz words and then hyper fixate on them. Nobody in this video once said that fly fishing is racist. Unfortunately, the message behind films like this get ignored by people like you and received in an entirely different light.

I think anyone is more likely to become a victim in a city than out in the woods fly fishing. Great video though. Would love to fish right alongside these guys and defend them from any BS but come on is it really happening? Maybe I'm just living under a rock.

Don’t be that guy…. Have you ever actually been to Forks, Wa? This was filmed on my home waters. There’s unfortunately plenty of racism in these small logging communities.
@Swimmy122 ай бұрын
@@stirr1737 the original comment above mine wasn’t about Forks, WA. I haven’t ever been and im sure there are great people fishing your local waters. My local water in Nor Cal, have so interesting folks around them. This conversation was never related to your waters, but fly fishing in general.
@fishermen82322 ай бұрын
I live in the PNW. I'm a (half) black fly fisherman. I've had a concealed weapon permit for 15 yrs and carry a gun often. The only time I've ever pulled my gun on a person was when I was fly fishing with my son. We encountered some racist (white skinheads) wackos campers that started yelling the N word at us and telling us to go back to where we came from. Both of them approached us (one had a metal bar) and needles to say they met the business end of my 9mm. They made the right choice and ran away. Odd? 🤔 You missed the point of this video, though...99% of fly shops, fly fishing companies, products and fly fishing media portrays fly fishing as an exclusively white sport. Yet, I find myself fly fishing alongside all races and ethnicities (including women). I think this video is attempting to break that stereotype, and I love it!
