Professional fisheries biologist here. I wear my Freestone waders about 1350 hours per year. With a few aquaseal treatments I can get them to last almost two years. I am super careful about the stocking feet, and treat them with care. They hold up pretty good.

Please introduce the jacket next time, I'm looking forward to it

The G3 is full of seams just like the rest of the models and we already know what happens in the end. I have two G3s and I can attest to this. Not so with my G4, Greystone is not a wader, it is a “bulldozer”.

I have been a Simms exclusive user for more than 20 years. The durabiliy and waterproffness declined significantly. Designers are more focused on straps and pockets than on keeping the angler dry.

I came to see any comments like this... curious if I've been alone. I have been a loyal Simms customer since 2018 and it's frustrating at how often my waders are leaking. I've seen a difference just in the past 3 years and it's too bad. I want to support Simms and what they do for our fishing community but my bank account is telling me to look elsewhere.

Same boat. Our whole family was loyal Simms users all growing up. Unfortunately, I’ve experienced many issues with simms, both quality, and customer service based, in recent years. Bought a Patagonia jacket, bag, and waders three years ago, and I’ve never looked back. Rock-solid warranty and customer service so far. The few issues I have had with my Patagonia gear has been resolved within minutes of starting a chat with a customer service rep.

Without my G4Zs I would freeze in our Coastal watersheds here in British Columbia. Winters are cold, wet and windy. 🥶

When they brake, and sadly they will. You should check out Loc Waders, i have used G4 pro for 5 years and they leaked. So i tried Loc which is a Swedish brand that make much stronger waders. I have been useing them in +25 and -10 celcius, never had a problem. They are outstanding, Michael & Young Fly shop do have them and sell them =D

@@hansson3337 Just checked! Great waders. I have to save for those. It will take time for me to save $2.265.

Guys, stop accesoricing wadders. Each new stich is a new hole for leaks. The new slogan should be K.I.D.S (Keep It Dry, Stu..)

My new Simms waders leaked in one foot first day, then at both knees on Day 2. Never bought a pair of waders the last 30 years that didn't leak immediately, or the first week, so nothing new. Seams are all flawed. Any brand that a man can buy. Well 40 years ago when waders were rubber, they didn't leak.
