I thought it would be fun to put these two powerful blenders in a side-by-side comparison and run them through a few tests. They are both great blenders and I would be happy having either one of these in my home... but which one is the best? Let me know your thoughts and comments down below. Which blender do you have?

@@Ao400 My Vitamix is the A3500 (most expensive of the newish Ascent series) and it wiggles a little at the base too. I always wondered if something was wrong with it, but it otherwise works great. I think it just might be the way it's designed. And it is really noisy at top speeds, but it does the job really well. It's so easy to keep clean too using the cleaning mode. I use a Vitamix at work, but I have a Blendtec at home. I think they both blend equally well. I like the shape of the Blendtec jar better, it makes it easier to scrape out the last bit of food from the bottom, and cleaning them is easier as well. I’ve had a Blendtec for 7 years and it’s made everything perfectly. It doesn’t need a tamper because it has many cycles that do those tasks. You use pulse instead of tamper to get the same result. I got the impression you were not familiar with those Blendtec features and tried to use in the same way as a Vitamix. Cleanup is also important and Blendtec is super fast and easy.

In fairness, it is possible to make a smooth frozen dessert in a Blendtec. It's just not as easy. You need a very specific ratio of ingredients in smaller pieces. With the Vitamix, none of that matters because you can literally force everything into the blade and not worry about air pockets forming.

Pea, hemp, pumpkin, and sacha inchi protein powders all seem to digest pretty well for me...I think variety is key...I usually go for the ones least processed like Sunwarrior warrior blend etc.... Well, Waring and Vitamix have had digital blenders in the food industry for well over 20 years, and it seems to work fine. I don't worry about my 750 Pro, but on the other hand, I never use any of the presets. A blender needs a precise dial, and that's it. If I was okay with the noise in my home, there would be a Vita-Prep 3 rather than a 750, but it's stupid loud for home use.

Blendtec is just as expensive if not more and it's no way near as good as Vitamix, sorry but it's true, and for that price point, if it needs something to push the product down they should design it and put one specifically for that blender in with your blender purchase. You were a big inspiration on me to start eating healthier (btw I’ve been vegan for 2.5 years). So anyways... my father recently passed away and I’m only 16 years old, like you were when you lost your dad (my dad was vegan too). And although I believe that genetics doesn’t play a big role in longevity, my father died from a sudden cardiac arrest which can happen to younger people, affects males, and was something that all his uncles had. He went vegan because he wanted to join my sister and I in our new lifestyle and wanted to be healthy. After becoming vegan his blood tests were phenomenal, and his cholesterol went down 45 points, along with taking multi vitamin and omega 3 supplements. He was in great shape and before he died recently had run 1.5 miles in under 9 minutes after not running at all, and at 71 years old. This has been really hard for my family but I always went back to you as a source of positivity. If there is something you could say or share, it would mean a lot. Thanks.

Yes you can make but butter but it take a long time and a lot of starting, stopping and scraping the sides etc. pesto is about the limit of the Blendtec and things like the same nicecream forget about it unless you like spending time stuffing around. I've had a Blendtec for over 8 years, but am in the market for a new one. I'm leaning toward a Vitamix, but I have to say that you are not operating the Blendtec correctly. You can't do everything at full speed. Both the ice cream and lemon tests will work, but you need to go at slower speeds and pulse to begin to avoid the air pocket, then increase the speed. Having said that, the presets are not all that useful, so if you were doing a proper test, you would operate it manually, which is how the Vitamix works. Thanks for the great demo, tho! Fun to watch.

Whole lemons blended are Dr Greger's prescription. You make ice cubes from them, then you drop them to your morning glass of water, smoothie, curry etc. Obviously you cut them up more and use just a bit of water...

lol if u blend the greens w the liquid before until there’s no chunks left and then add the fruit/bananas etc it makes a world of difference!! my ninja has a specific smoothie option and a smaller single use blender so i use that and do the smoothie setting w abt three cups of spinach and 4oz almond milk and go for a full cycle and it completely blends it up! then i just add the banana and fruit for another cycle. no more chewing!!

Had a Vitamin. Couldn't fit under cabinet. Purchased Blendtec. Fits under cabinet. Don't have to watch because it shuts off automatically. Blade won't cut me. Blend in level 4 because early I found out will turn my mixture piping hot if speed turned too high. It has 10 speeds.

Awesome infomercial. I have a normal 90€ blender. It can't mix everything (like raw brownie dough) but i am quite happy with it for the last 6+ years, also it has a glass jar which i prefer. But i think the next time when i move countries again, i will get a vitamix

I just bought an Instant Pot blender for $99 us that is capable of making nut milks and smoothies. It pulverizes chia seeds and greens for my smoothies. It's as large as the Vita Mix but not quite as powerful, but for the difference in price, worth it to me. As a side note, it comes with a tamper.

So one needed assistance from a device the other didn't include. Use a wooden dowel (from green star juicer) for the Blendtech and you likely have it as the winner. Which one last longer? Which has the bigger/stronger motor?

My refurbished Blendtec came with a wild side jar, so the problem of needing to push things down is never an issue. I also got a twister jar to make peanut butter, so again, nothing gets stuck on the sides. And unlike the Vitamix, it didn't cost the same as a used car.

I’ve had a Blendtec and the bearing wore out on it. I bought a Vitamix as a replacement and I’m much happier with the results I get. It’s the narrow container of the Vitamix that makes a big difference in the blend quality, a taller and stronger vortex.

My vitamix overheats and turns itself off when you make tough things like hummus. It is also impossible to get the stuff out of the bottom because the blades are there, and it's a pain to clean. The Nutribullet pro is really good for smoothies and a lot easier to clean

We own Blentec, Breville and Vitamix blenders. All do a good job. We've never had a splash through the Blendtec's lid, but we actually pushed it down tight (no flaps up). This appears to me to be, in fact, a real infomercial.

I have had a Vitamix 5200 for years and a just purchased a Blendtec Classic 575 today. I am not sure which one I like better but I will say that just leaving the ice cream mixture with the blade spinning in the Blendtec like you did is a bit ridiculous. I think that was a fluke air bubble and you should have tried it again. I can almost guarantee if you had of stopped it, given a quick pulse at low speed then continued the Blendtec would have had no issue. The one thing that I have concluded in the 12 hours that I've had the Blendtec is that it definitely is able to mix up very thick smoothies without any assistance, which I prize. With my Vitamix there's no way that it will mix up the same ingredients without a tamper. I believe this has as much to do with the shape of the container as it has to do with the blades, but I could be wrong.

Hi Derek & Crystal! loved this video! For everyone using a not so high tech blender and wanting to make a nice cream/smoothie bowl here‘s a trick for you: boil your water or use hot water from the tab and put it in first, then add your frozen fruit/veggies. It makes a huge difference and works almost everytime for my blender 😊 one day I’ll invest in a vitamix too but as long as I’m a student I just can’t afford it so my little hack saves my life 😅

What I like about the original vitamix is the stainless container, or whatever it's called. I have a stainless one, and I don't have to worry about it staining or cracking or melting etc. I put hot soup in there to blend. Definitely need the tamper for anything thicker than a smoothie, though because the pressure from the spinning blade pushes everything up, like a fan blowing upwards.

The reason why your juice was missing some flavor, for the liquid you need to do part apple juice (from concentrate) and part water. Also squeeze some from lemon juice in it. You will notice a huge difference in flavor. I have a vitamix 750 series and loving it.

I have ordered a blendtec I like the look of the design better. Also they are most common here in our UK food businesses Like starbucks vosta and other small independents. Blendtec blenders need more liquid for some product s you are making. Where as the vita mix you would use slightly less stock in a business. As you won't need to add more milk cream or water ect.

I switched to vitamix because of the slow setting. It would be great if you guys did a side by side with salsa. My older blendtec failed for salsa. The speed was too fast and liquified it, while the vitamix had a lower speed and made a nice chunky salsa.

I’ve had both and I prefer vitamix. Not only does Blendtec doesn’t have a tamper, it also doesn’t have a dial like vitamix, only presets, which means it splatters over every inch of the blender and cover. The Blendtec is super messy. The vitamix is much neater bc you can control the speed. Because you can control the speed the liquid doesn’t spray all over. Also, the vitamix container is sturdier and doesn’t get water stains as much as the Blendtec jar. And, the measurements on the vitamix are raised unlike Blendtec, which are painted on, which will rub off over time.

The Vitamix are actually 2.0hp for the e310 aged line, and 2.2hp for e320 and all of the other newer models. What I'd like to see is how they blend cold liquid with all frozen fruits and fresh greens. I have to tamp with my vitamix every single time I try to blend like this.

I have a Vitamix Pro series 300, There so expensive in the UK at £499. In my home town we had one of the only Whole foods Markets outside of London but when they got bought out by Amazon and they decided to shut some stores ours was one of them 😭. I arrived late on closing day and when I got in the store all the blenders were gone so i found a staff member and asked if there were any left and he said no but would check out back, It was my lucky day and he brought me the last one in the store and I got it for £249. Up till this point I was using a Magimix but the Vitamix was a game changer in terms of smoothness and I love it to bits 😎.
