Simon and Garfunkel the boxer music reaction. The combination of Paul Simon and Art Ganfunkel has blessed up with some.of the greatest music ever!
This song has an incredible melody and the sing along lie lie lie lie or la lala la(however you choose to interpret it),is one of the most memorable sing alongs in music on par with Hey Jude by the Beatles.
Enjoy this Simin and Garfunkel the boxer reaction.

I saw a psychologist on a talk show talking about peoples' beliefs. She said if you take 10 people who have a false belief system and you show them that they are being lied to only one out of ten will believe the truth. The rest will only "hear what they want to hear". Now think about millions that refuse to listen to the truth.

Paul Simon performed this song on the first episode of Saturday Night Live after the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001 with about a dozen of New York City police and firefighters standing behind him. still dusty with debris. The Boxer is really a metaphor for the plight of this young man. He remembers every glove that hit him. Life has hit this young man hard and he remembers, like a boxer would. It is strength of character that allows a boxer to get up and possibly take another hit. Such is life. Such is the brutal winter and the lack of jobs and the lack of friends. He is just comparing the life of this young man to a boxer. This is my opinion and I believe others might agree.

Harri I enjoyed, very much, your analysis of The Boxer, as well as your reaction. This is one of my five greatest songs ever . . . and I'm not normally given to hyperbole (I'm more of the Clint Eastwood demeanor, I suppose.) Now, if you understand the song title you will then understand the 'lie, lie, lie' lyrics in the chorus. He says he's leaving, but he doesn't! Only those who have been beaten down and survived the arena of life will understand and agree. BTW, I'm almost 74, and still lying (only not here.)

I have suggested it before but know that I am sure you love S&G I will suggest it once more. The song is "American Tune" from their Concert in Central Park. Not "America" which is also in there. "American Tune" was recorded by Simon alone on one of his solo albums. Here, with Garfunkel added in the mix, it takes on a beauty and a poignancy second to only a few.

Howdy. I came across your channel for the first time and see that you enjoy older music (Beatles, disco, etc.). Have you ever listened to "The Carpenters" They are a Grammy winning brother and sister band in the 1970s/80s with multiple hits. Karen Carpenter was voted by Rolling Stone magazine in 2010 as #94 of the 100 Greatest Singers of all time. She still has legions of fans to this day after dying from complications of anorexia nervosa (eating disorder) at the age of 32. Her full, lower register, lustrous voice was unique and beautiful, and still resonates with people to this day . She regarded herself as a "drummer who could sing". I recommend listening to several songs like "Close to You" (see one where she plays the drums while singing), "Superstar", or Rainy Days and Mondays". A truly memorable singer. I see that you discovered Dimash- some of the greatest singers today that stand head and shoulders above the rest (like Dimash) are (with starter performances) 1) So Hyang (South Korea)- start with "Arirang Alone", "Bridge Over Trouble Water "(Simon and Garfunkel); chooses to sings for God and to comfort others; gospel background and technically flawless singer (per multiple vocal teachers/coaches) who sings with emotion 2) Morissette Amon (Philippines)- "Rise Up", "Never Enough"; a rising superstar You won't regret my suggestions!

When you talk about the trance-inducing quality of the "lie-la-lie, lie-la-lie-lie-lie-la-lie"... it does also make me think of the "na, na, na, na-na-na-na" of Hey Jude. @@vermontmoocow too true, but he would insist on top billing and a cut of the song writer's residuals.

Great video but I gotta say what was this duo thinking with this album cover 😂

Speaking of diamonds... Please react to the Joan Baez song "Diamonds and Rust." She wrote it about her relationship with Bob Dylan. Her guitar is gorgeous, and the composition is also gorgeous, and she sings it beautifully. Very poignant.

I love The Eagles for their harmonies. "In The City" and "One Of These Nights" and my all time fave "Take It To The Limit"

If harmonies are your thing, have you tried any Acapella groups? HOME FREE is a country Acapella group that do great harmonies. They cover Boys II Men, Johnny Cash and they just did a 50 re-release of American Pie with Don McClean. Give them a whirl, you've got nothing to lose except miss out on some eargasms!😎😎😎😎
