Pitch your tent near the creek, that is the kind of sound you want to 😴 by. Drowns out the highway noise!

Thanks to you Cliff I was able to see Fort August when I drove by this past Sat . Foliage is starting to change here in N Tioga Co. Pa. The best color I saw sat was going over Bloss Mt on Rt 15 and Steam Valley.

You're rapidly closing in on a well deserved 50k, subs, Mr. Woodsman! Any plans for a commemorative / celebratory video?

Beautiful little park and trail, but a little noisy. It seemed like a great day for a hike. I believe emetic means causes vomiting. Take care Cliff.

Beautiful colors on this trail. In NW PA they are just starting to turn. I love the wooden bridges. Very pretty area minus the truck noise. Oh well, easy to ignore though.

That old stone stove out in the woods was probably made by the CCC. You can find them off in the woods at many state parks that were CCC built, like at Colton Point. There are some still usable at Big Spring State Park in Tuscarora State Forest.

Elliott Park is such a beautiful place, but the interstate noise is a real pain. I never noticed the stone chimney in the woods before.

Gorgeous! Thank you! I'm originally from PA but live in the south now so I don't get to see fall explosions like this anymore.

Thanks For taking me and the inch worm along Cliff. Too bad about the traffic noise, I'm thinking if you camped there and tuned in the traffic noise there would me no sleeping. Maybe that was an old fire pit put there by the state for campers but fell out of use?

If you get a chance, go to a place called Benezette. There is an elk preserve there and there are plenty of beautiful elk!

Here in the Chicago NW suburbs is a town called Elk Grove Village. It's the home of one of ( if not *the* ) biggest forest preserves in Cook County, Busse Woods. The preserve has a beautiful herd of elk -- hence the name of the town. Fun Fact: Busse Woods gets more visitors per year than Yosemite National Park :)

The noise is scarcely noticeable at night there. MUCH better than screaming kids/dogs/skateboards and people talking all night at Parker dam. Plus- most nights you get a bear or two at your site there.

PA woods are so calming, I love it. Im sure you know this but check yourself for ticks frequently, PA woods are also the worst for those nasty critters

Beautiful color. We should be getting some really soon here in Ferndale,WA. We also will be getting the fall rains, looks like about eight days of overcast and showers ahead. "The old horse trail" makes me wonder when it was named and why. Where did it start and where did it go and who lived there years ago. Your adventures give you time to ponder nature the past, do you share your adventures with your students do they care? I hope so, but youth is wasted on the young often. Cheers, Rik

He has done videos with his students. A couple of videos with a botany class. He would quiz them on the different plants as they did a nature hike. He has done seminars with his students for survival skills. One video the students built small structures in the woods. Another one was building structures in the snow. His students were very engaged.
