I think Simon calling Marceline is the most heartbreaking moment it's not like he can't talk to her or they care for each other any less than they ever have it's that he clearly does not want to burden her as she has her own life now

I'm gonna be perfectly honest - this spin-off is absolutely incredible. It's so crazy to me that each time new episodes come out, they absolutely topple the previous two episodes in quality. Like, the first two episodes are good, the next two episodes are really good, the next next two episodes are incredible, etc. I think that this is literally my favourite spin-off ever made, and it's such a good continuation to AT. Love it.

The tree we see in the intro is the tree with Finn sword that was planted in the finale where the old ruined treehouse was, then it glitches into the same the tree 1000 years later that’s what that whole thing was basically

Yeah personally I think if you haven't seen all of original Adventure Time you should ***not*** be watching this series, so I think given a quick spoiler warning, you shouldn't restrict what you say for these videos, but that's just my opinion

Obviously it's his video he can do whatever he wants and I'm still going to probably watch it, but it makes no sense trying to be spoiler-free what is essentially the 12th season of the show if you count distant lands at the 11th

@AceRadicalsunset I mean you *could* watch this show without watching the original...but why? I feel like all that does is ruins the progression of the story for yourself. I'm always an advocate for experiencing media in the order they were intended to get the most out of what it offers, and I think that absolutely applies here. Now I'm not here to judge people who choose to do it differently, it's just not what I would have my friends who have yet to see the original do, and I think that will offer the more fulfilling experience

Alright everyone, so you may be asking where episode 1 is - and the answer is KZbin Copyright did not shine favorably upon that video yet 😅I still wanted to drop this partially because it pairs perfectly with the OG Adventure Time reaction we dropped this week, which happens to be Ice Kings first appearance (oh my what a contrast)! Thanks so much for all your support - no idea how quickly these will come out or if I'll have to change up how I'm covering it (less reaction format and more review) but I'm loving the ride no matter how fast it can get done!

Oh, and to ponder the question of how jake died - it's actually showed during Charlie's, one of Jake's pups, future vision ritual in "Daddy-Daughter Card Wars" - Jake gags on a sandwich that's too big. What a way to go.

Glad to see you reacting to these. I just caught up to episode 6 last night, and damn this show is so good. Also, it becomes very clear as it goes on that it's very much intended as a continuation of Adventure Time for those who've seen the original. There are a lot of deep cut references to characters and storylines from the original series, so it'd be very hard not to spoiler it when talking about this. So I wouldn't worry about that.

Maybe this is because I care a lot more about Animation and Art and storytelling and dedicate more of my time to it, but honestly I tend to feel like the first three episodes of a series is a better capture of the show than the pilot itself, and I feel like Fionna and Cake is an excellent example of why, the juxtaposition between these first two episode are a part of the show's message and intent in such a big way!

To answer a questions: I have an ironing board, but I use it for sewing reasons and never for my daily clothes lol. The series takes place 12 years after the finally, just like the real time that has passed. Finn has turned into the best Himbo in animation. lol. I just love how he is as an adult, but he clearly isn't over Jake's death and is dealing with it by adventuring, and that's why he's dragging Simon into it. He thinks that's the solution, because he's not sad when he's full adrenalin and and assumes it will keep anyone from being sad. I also love that this series decided to grow with it's audience. the more mature themes, blood and semi-swears. Sorry you're episode 1 reaction is caught up in copyright purgatory. Some things I've seen other channels do to not get flagged are flipping/mirroring the viewing screen or putting "FAIR USE" in semi-transparent text over the playback screen. (Which is kind of like your star burst animation, so not sure how much more that'd help) and changing the playback speed by +or- 0.1% to slightly distort the sound.

Totally agree about Finn and thank you for answering about the ironing board XD I was more curious than I should've been - and I do use filters and certain editing tactics and they work to varying degrees - the copyright ID is pretty sophisticated though and can usually notice unless it's heavily distorted - honestly in most cases I prefer to maintain the quality of the show and just fight the claims - we always win (because fair use laws do protect us at the end of the day) but sometimes we miss out on time-sensitive SEO (which is a worthy cause when we get support from amazing audience members like yourself 😁❤) - Ultimately I think I'd rather do review format for newer things at this point anyway! We can spend more time reviewing the material and have less problems getting them up in time - then the reactions can air whenever they're ready

With hall of Egress he wasn't really looking for anyone, he was waiting for "something to be different" and over those 6 years things weren't different because he hadn't let go of being a child or letting life flow him along without burdens or past resentments or bonds. When he found his way out he had let life drift him along without holding onto anything from his past, including his pain from losing Flame Princess.Unfortunately as of this episode he clearly has those burdens and bonds and resentments again with his inability to ignore the passing of his brother and he cannot let go (and in Together again we learn he never really does move on as he says he was just waiting for the day he got to see Jake again). So it's most likely as you see Finn now, ignoring and closing off his pain, is how he will be until he ...well y'know. Also Choose Goose's evil was in the distant lands finale with Wizard City.

Thats probably the most upsetting part of the show so far. The fact we know he wont ever really get better while alive. Simon could grow and be happy, Fionna could grow and be happy Finns ending is set in stone.

@@aspen1889finn gets to reincarnate with jake again, the only thing he’s ever wanted. they are soulmates, of course he would lose his way once his literal soulmate was gone. i think finn’s ending is amazing because it ultimately ends how i said, him reincarnating with his best friend again and again forevermore

I think he should just do spoilers anyway. As far as I, and I think a lot of fans are concerned. Distant lands and this show are essentially the 11th and 12th seasons of Adventure Time respectively. Functionally that's what they do, I don't really think there's any way of enjoying either series to its fullest if you're uninitiated

Oh also don't know if you mentioned it in audibly because I was listening not watching but that was Rebecca sugar the creator of Steven Universe who sung part of that Madness she's actually a big creative Force behind Adventure Time and did a lot of the music as well as being the original voice for Marceline's mom and the voice for Music hole. You might have already known this but if not I thought it was a really fun tidbit

I remember when they enter the heart of the forest and Finn is giving his shpiel about the universe guiding them to where they need to be, I suddenly realized that Finn is essentially Tarzan. Only instead of "jungle and monkeys" it's "all the madness of Ooo", but he is essentially Tarzan
