They need to move Berggren and Kasper up to the 2nd line with Kane. They're buzzing every game, perhaps Kane can help them start converting on those chances. Plus, Copp - Compher on the 2nd line is a recipe for no 5 on 5 scoring.

One big issue I continue to see is that when something good happens for the other team (rusts goal) or something bad happens to the red wings (goal called back) this team deflates so quickly and really struggles to take momentum back. After Rusts goal, the red wings were clinging to life until the OT winner. It’s like a complete 180 from last season where they constantly fought back and won late close games. Very strange. Seider also had a rough game. Big win nonetheless, LGRW

you're wrong about Seider. He is a step slow on the outside. He's been burnt several times to the outside the last 3 years by speed. You just aren't aware of it and don't realize it's a weakness in his game but it is. Love Seider love Edvinsson with Seider. On the list of issues with this team it's low on the list but facts are facts. It is a weakness for Seider and whether he needs to work on positioning or being more physical at the point of attack instead of letting guys blow by or work on developing more or faster acceleration or all of the above idk, but it is a weakness in his game.
@billjohansson88Күн бұрын
You are 100% correct here. Not many people have noticed this especially funny as I, as a Swede have seen it several times on bigger ice. Edvinsson also has difficulties with this and it is quite clear that they both choose to take up space instead of the player through physical play. Probably because they know their weaknesses and choose to follow the system first and foremost. What's interesting is that MO is beaten time and time again by any normal player, maybe he relaxes a bit because it's not Mc-david or Sid the kid who comes, it looks easy tho.
@cdobson3141Күн бұрын
@@billjohansson88 It does look easy when it happens. kinda scary actually because what happens in the playoffs when we face a Carolina or McDavid and they are going 100%? It's such a glaring weakness that I'm shocked he gets the pass on this as if he's the best defenseman in the NHL. He needs to talk to Larry Murphy and use his size/strength to be more physical. Murphy was pretty slow toward the end of his career but he was extremely effective still.
@billjohansson88Күн бұрын
@@cdobson3141 Oo I'm so glad you use Larry Murphy , as Murphy's law states "things will go wrong in any given situation, if you give them a chance," as universal "truths". Murphy was not only older when he came to RW, he was also coming off a very bad injury that could very well end his career. Nicklas Lidström also helped Murphy get a new spark in his career, which led to 2 new Cups for him personally. Here both MO & Edvinsson can learn a lot from Murphy/Nik how to adapt their own game for the good of the team. Examples of this can be found within the Van organization with the Sedin brothers helping the players how to handle the corners and play along the board and its small areas. Being part of a learning organization is so important in a team sport, unlike individual sports.

They weren’t out there by design. Petry came on for Gus, Holl was unable to change. Holl was caught out there for a 2:36 shift when they finally scored. He was gassed.

Yeah Crosby clocked it and kept play alive didn’t allow a Change the way he plays 2 and half mins he was definitely gassed up - what I would like to see is someone these guys shooting like its a play off game even as a Detroit die hard I not sure we will be as close as last year I think they are just waiting to either be able to deal some players or let their contract go. Next year get a few players in here - the hardest part about this team is they are just a few players away now
@cdobson3141Күн бұрын
@@LockedOnRedWings Holl is most certainly not the issue with this blue line. He's been a bright spot in comparison to the attitude toward him and his play on the ice which is unjustified. He's not a bad defenseman. He does well defending the rush, he moves the puck well at times. At least he isn't the black hole that Chariot is when it comes to doing anything helpful with the puck. Every time the guy touches the puck in the offensive zone the possession is over. you can just count on it.

A 7-7-1 record through a relatively tough early schedule and right in the thick of the division does not warrant a firing of either. I don’t love lalonde’s system, but they won’t fire him right now.
