It negates the point of buying a football club, Premier league clubs have enough income to spend upto there ffp every summer anyway, So buying a club is almost pointless under ffp, You buy a club for 1billion, Cant invest in the team, So whats the point? Imagine taking over a company and not being able to invest in the company to make it sustainable, Its bizarre honestly.

The EPL PSR/FFP rules are supposed to be about making sure premier league clubs remain solvent. Newcastle have the richest owners in world football and so applying the PSR/FFP rules to them makes no sense in terms of what the rules are supposed to be there for. Other club's fans are overjoyed that FFP/PSR are limiting Newcastle's spending of course especially the usual top 6.

Not the result remotely. In its current format it has been found the laws need tweaking in order to comply with UK law. The laws are also still currently exactly the same until the premier league have amended them who still maintain a view to prevent clubs inflating finances via obscene sponsorships. The premier league aren’t under an obligation to change the policies entirely. However on the other hand it would be funny for Newcastle to sponsor themselves for 10 billion odd a year and just have fun with it.

Well it depends, what it does do is potentially put a stop clubs only being allowed to spend what they can generate. The team the current system benefits most is Man Utd. I don’t disagree actually that teams like Newcastle or Everton or anyone should be afforded the opportunity to grow and develop and challenge for titles. That enriches everything about the league. What you probably shouldn’t do is allow Newcastle and city to sponsor themselves for as much as they want and ruin any form of competition. Albeit it would be moderately amusing for Newcastle to now play effectively football manager.

The fairest way is to have a first team salary cap so no team can have all the best players on high wages, its then skill of the manager and management to get the best mix. If you want to spend everything on eleven players, great but their squad players will be poor. It will also encourage clubs to do more work with their academies. Clubs should have no financial barrier to infrastructure such as stadiums training facilities and academies.

SJP is situated next to listed buildings and an historic public park and land owned by the Freeman of Newcastle. It’s also big enough and young enough in terms of previous development to take the time to establish if development is feasible and financially possible. They are doing that right now. I do think FFP rules are pretty stupid in terms of being applied across the board. FFP makes sene in the lower divisions much more because these teams aren’t owned by billionaires and Bury for example what happened to Bury so FFP is understandable much more in that realm but really Newcastle what’s the danger of a state owned club going into administration? It should be applied more individually and should be taken into consideration if a club is having issues financially then FFp should be applied if the club that is having issues to help them so they don’t go insolvent but just applying across the board to clubs that have no worry or any chance of ever going to administration is ridiculous in my opinion and just limits competition as well. I understand FFP but it shouldn’t be applied across the board lower tier clubs should be prioritised more to help them from going bust and should be applied to prem clubs if they have a history of financial issues that’s it not just applying to every single club even if that club has no issues and are completely fine

I don't want Newcastle to be able to spend hundreds of millions on players, but it absolutely isn't fair that they can't when Chelsea are spending a billion over a few years but it's ok because their owners can sell club assets to themselves. Then there's City spending as much over a similar period and enjoying the benefits of a sponsorship deal with effectively their own owners. It isn't a level playing field when nation states are effectively taking over clubs, but neither is it a level playing field under the current rules with the loopholes that certain clubs have been able to exploit. Maybe City will be punished, and Chelsea may be creating problems for themselves down the line, but it wouldn't be at all surprising to see them continue to get away with it, and for more clubs to start doing the same, leaving the rest trailing in their wake.

The financial rules means dosent matter how rich owners are, only funds generated by club can be used. newcastle new director for transfers got it right, they brought players with resale value. tho they did incredible well get into that champions league the issue will always be maintaining that top 4 finish. money in generates and sponsors all the above is massive, its what helped other clubs extend there strength over all others. selling players and recruitment is now the priority for all clubs. new rules next season tho still gives advantage to the so called top normal 4.

The first thing that comes to mind is that Chelsea and Manchester City have both won the Champions League super cup and club World Cup this to go with the fact city have won the league and domestic cups and Chelsea has also won the Europa League and played in about 8 domestic cup finals they are also the most profitable teams in the sales of the academy talent that they have been producing for years. The fact that Newcastle have been not been spending on players is a joke they have had hardly any academy players in the first team and have spent millions on transfers to improve the midfield and attack and they were prepared to spend 70 million on a defender but they were turned down by palace

Clubs have to go through this unlawful APT, but others like Chelsea (and a few other teams) with dodgy front of shirt sponsors who are sponsoring the club for more money than the company has - more than it's turnover (which is zero in some cases) and one which uses a dead tiktok star as the photo of it's CEO - don't go through any scrutiny whatsoever and it just gets waved through. Biggest thing for me though is the clear evidence of cartel action after the NUFC takeover where 1 club lobbied the other PL clubs (minus Newcastle) and got 10 to join it in sending an email to Masters, who then held a meeting and didn't invite Newcastle. You can't get much more of a cartel action than that - that action brought in the APT rules which were rushed through without any testing of the system. I hope someone runs another CAT case against them.

So then, Simon will be happy that Man City won their case against the premier league. In that gulf state owned club's , the clubs spend cap was essentially "ellegal." Brought in, co- incidentally right after the nufc's saudi pif takeover. Hell, be happy that Y.A.R. will be, accomidating all them new Sponserships, e.g ground, shirt. & if they're owned by pif, he'll be happy that its totally legal ☑️

Sept 1st 2009 - UEFA introduced FFP, followed by a Premier League announcement that they will put together a report with a view to implementing FFP for the 2011-12 season. July 1st 2011 - Premier League introduce FFP July 8th 2011 - Man City announce £400m sponsorship deal with Etihad (Owned by Sheikh Mansour's brother) July 8th 2011 - Man City became the football club with the highest sponsorship revenue in the history of Football, by a BIG margin. This was at a time when they had reached their first-ever domestic semi-final in 40 years the year before. They had played a Champions League game since 1968 and had not played a game in European competition for 40 years until 2010. I am not here to judge, I am just writing down facts. It is fair because i want the game played on the pitch and titles won on sporting merit not on how much wealth you have and arabs trying to expand their world wide image. If a club generates its own revenue from being that club, then uses that money to win titles that is fine. If someone ploughs money in from outside to inflate the whole industry thats not fine. I dont want an arms race. clubs come in different sizes so some will have more money naturally than others. Tranmere cant compete with Liverpool and you cant just put an arab in at tranmere, doesnt work like that. Each club runs itself to the best of its ability

The consistently issue is on the business of that our squad is. Which isn't the case of buying players, it's more the case of moving them on and such. Which is where the PSR issue comes in for us. Something we need to sort. We can't sell our players that we don't need any more on cheap, then go on and spend mega money on many players, that'd break the rules. Something we clearly don't want to do. Like I mean. We'd want rid of Miggy, Murphy, Wilson, Targett, prob all our keepers minus Pope. Hayden, Lewis, Lascelles, Krafth. With also uncertaintly over Trips, Burn's pace and issue, and Longstaff sometimes not connecting. But in order to get the best deals for those, and go buy players, we have to get the best deals, which is an issue in itself. Which leaves Newcastle in hard position to really move. The club looks miles better, and sure, we got further then expected, but till we clear those out, we won't be moving further.

Rules can always be changed and need adapting, Newcastle aren't the only owners being restricted by this, plenty of premier league teams and lower league teams simply can't invest their own personal wealth because the gate receipts and the sponsors don't cover the inflation of transfers and wages. Time will tell I guess.
