We failed purely and simply, because Clarke wet the bed. He learned nothing from Euro2020, as he went into this with exactly the same tactics. Just keep it tight, hope to spring a counter and then hold on to it. That was his masterplan. Clarke has taken Scotland as far as he can, he's not going to suddenly come out and have a go at teams. He's done well in qualifying, even the last world cup qualifying was arguably better than we expected, but in the play-off v Ukraine, he once more bottled it. For me, this has to be the end of this squad. All players over 30 have to got rid of. Thank you for representing your nation, but, we move on and rebuild. It's disgraceful, when you see Georgia beating Portugal convincingly, to qualify for the latter stages in their first ever major tournament. I'm absolutely delighted for them, because they've deserved it with the way they've approached the 3 group games. They've had no fear. They've played for eachother, and that crest on their chest. They've shown pride in representing their nation, and i take my hat off to them. What's disgraceful is, the fact we finished 9 points better off than them in qualifying. We beat them, convincingly at Hampden, on that sodden night last year, we showed a bit of guts to get a good draw with them in Georgia at the end of the campaign. We should've been going into this tournament with far more confidence than they were. We should've been approaching games in a similar manner to them. Instead Scotland approached this tournament like the hard work was already done. We kept hearing how they wanted to make history, and make the country proud. Just shut up and play, get the required results and that would make the country proud.

Interesting comment. Portugal Didn’t really need to bother against Georgia? I’m here to see opinions. Thought I was done with the SFA… had a wee t-shirt in ‘74… that’s when you see one needs the clout and a bit of luck - those results and compare them to how similar has done for England to get (handed) by. The England fest ( ‘not the east side of the draw’ -sic)and the Beebs ridiculing of Scotland during the tournaments has brought me here again.

Bill Leckie said " By one of the best squads he said in a long long time " Mon Bill they are hopeless .> We were very fortunate to make Euros although happened to hit their best ever form in the qualifiers and also luck played its part with win v Norway away with scoring very late in that qualifier in Norway to win ..and i dont even think Spain sent out their best team underestimating Scotland in which was then wrong on their part and we won . But Scotland did play well to get to the Euros although i did said we would not win one match in group and go out early as per norm and we would lose 3/0 by Germany which ended by 5/1 and they even scored our goal tells u enough We just dont possess strikers good enough and Adams being in team is a terrible decision always by Clarke as that guy is not good enough for Int football ..We were hopeless in matches especially v both Germany and Hungary in particular as they were there to beat .Hungary and v Germany expecting to give them a game of it but not . Bunch of duds in the end Scotland and when they were walking out of their digs in Germany for to begin their journey home the brass band playing them out reminded me of > Laurel and Hardy and the film Bonnie Scotland just and check their faces was a like circus leaving town . As for Stephen Clarke best he moves on elsewhere as Scotland need in someone better as his team with Adams always in it WHY is beyond me ..and his subs brought on were both at the wrong times and also wrong choice plus McGinn should have stayed on park he was in Hungary game our better player . Forrest should hve been on whole of 2nd half as should Shankland and told McGinn to go up park more so to aid both Forrest and get balls into Shankand and have a go when time is right for themselfs if need be ..Clarke also has no plan B ..Time for him to move aside . As for Euros winners i pick Spain .

We unfortunately don’t have any pace in our team and very little attacking threat. We rely on our wing backs for our wide attacking threat as we don’t have any notable good wingers and that means when the likes of Tierney are injured we become very one dimensional with our only attacking play coming from McGinn or McTominay.

We failed because we don't have quality players who don't know how to think the game. Clarke was a coward and didn't go for it in ANY of the matches. We were an embarrassment at the tournament. But I think the BIGGEST problem we have is that we have becomes comfortable with mediocrity and less. We are happy just to qualify and don't have give a sh!t about being competitive. That is a sad state. We need to scrap the team through and restart from scratch. We just don't have quality or skillful players on the team.

Clarke should have played Ross Stewart at Southampton. A goal machine.Just came back from long injury at the end of this season. Would have been worth taking a chance. I am surprised no big club has bought Stewart. If he had a Spanish name, Chelsea would spend 30 M on him . Weak squad, but very badly coached. New manager needed, and rope in George Graham to help him out.He knows how to set up a good team. One of the great Scots. And bring back the Home Championships.

It wasnt just the tournament though, was it? It was every game we've played since last June. The signs have been there since way back then that the tournament could be humiliating. We've been absolutely dreadful. Very disappointing considering some of the wonderful performances we produced earlier on in Clarke's tenure (Serbia, Austria, Israel, Denmark, Ukraine, Norway, Spain to name a few)

Am a scot and our football from domestic to national side needs big changes. Yes steve clarke did great to get us to 2 European championships and bring fans back to support our side. But we dont have the quality when we are there to really challenge as it has shown. Id like summer football brought in to our leagues and bigger spl. I understand money is big issue in Scotland we need top coaches with our youth all the way up in my opinion i dont know if stevie clarke will stay on as manager totally agree with simon and the other fella saying clarke needs to find another game plan for next campaign. If stevie clarke goes i personally would like someone with big reputation who has won trophies and who could get the very best out of our players we played with fear against germany that was soul destroying i thought we would of fought hard and competed better we played well against Switzerland but upfront lacked the quality and against hungary was very disappointing i wish them well for world cup qualifying campaign.

Anyone saying Scotland aren't capable of competing in the Euro's should remember that we finished with more than double the points Georgia did in the same qualifying group, finished second to their fourth, and they're in the last 16. It's hardly a great team (especially with a lot of injuries) but they could have at least competed.

Steve Clarke is too defensive and will never use Lewis Ferguson - not using that boy alone, for 2 plus years - that is a joke alone 😮😢 A sign of a stubborn "callum mcgregor" is the best 🤔 ❓ Yet a younger, stronger, more vibrant option is Lewis Ferguson - but much much more to his all round game. YET: the boy turned up for nationals after nationals and 99.9% of the time didn't get over the white line as a substitute❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓❓ Young Ferguson has played at one of the highest levels for 2 years plus: won prestigious Italian awards, broke records for the highest scoring Scot in Serie A, was stand-in Captain for months while their captain was injured which led to him taking over the captaincy full-time, (a wee guy fae Larkhall captains his Italian team) and leads his Bologna to a 4th place Champions League finish 😳 😮 Which is like a Brentford or a Fulham granting 4th place in the Premier League 🤔 😳 But then suffered an ACL hence was injured for a euros - that he wouldn't have played a minute for, regardless 🙄 🤔 GET CLARKE OUT NOW !! NAE PLAN B !! DOUR FACED STUBBORN 😣
