To be honest, he has only had a handful of bouts, and it was too early a step up. This gonna be the only issues going forward, big turki wants a fight to happen, it will happen. Regardless of the experience of each fighter.

Matchmaking needs to be very careful with these guys. For example, Wardley/Ckarke. Personally I don’t think Clarke was ready yet for that fight, and got rushed into it. Now has ended up with a bad injury.

Agreed.....the only fighter I compare whittaker to ,is Naseem Hamed,not for skills or power,but for all the showing off with weaker opponents....Hamed has spent all his career running from good opposition like Barrera and Morales.....They knew he was inferior to those two and run a mile from them ,until the arrogance of Hamed and the pressure from the boxing fans put him in a corner.......Barrera humiliated him so much that he retired him....... That is what ,in a small version,happened to Whittaker,got find out and run away from the fight........but now the fans are waiting and man,they are upset....is either immediate rematch,or forget about big money...... Ultimately the guy is a fraud so,good riddance...

Bivol doesn’t have knockout power (at world level) but he has enough power to gain his opponents respect. You can’t be a LHW champ for as long as he was by being a pillow puncher, he’s fought plenty of pressure fighters that would’ve walked through him if he had no power at all. Can’t be compared to Whittaker who’s KOs are drying up before even getting to Euro level

Also gloves do not come in sets, they come in pairs, & i do not need to put a pair on to have an opinion. I have been a boxing fan for 52 years, & i was a B.W. fan, & i have seen more than enough fights to know when a fighter quits, or when he is genuinely injured, all of the evidence is there. Apart from that the way that B. W. has responded with complete silence, tells me all that i need to know. If he does not have an immediate rematch, then this is going to follow him around like a bad smell for the rest of his career, also Cameron beats him in a rematch, also if you look at all of the social media, you will see that 95% of boxing fans agree with me, Whittaker won the 1st round, but Cameron won the next 4, including the 5th, Whittaker wanted an 'out', & pulled Cameron over the ropes with him, he quit, & that's all there is to it ! !.

I think Whittaker took the easy way out, I think we'd have seen some evidence of injury by now. Ben wasn't exactly being schooled in there, just a good humbling experience he'll probably learn a lot from. I'd back Whittaker to win in a rematch. Guys aint got a clue. The judges agreed on 10 rounds. Judges gave Bivol in respect 6 rounds, 5 rounds and 4 rounds. This is one of the very few fights where the judges virtually agreed on what they saw.

Boxing needs to shake up the scoring system, make it more clean cut with a single set of scoring guidelines set by all boards and governing bodies. They also need to introduce live scoring, after every 3 rounds the judges scores are aired, this will make judges accountable and bouts more exciting. We also need judges to score digitally instead of using pen and paper, a new card can easily be rewritten to change a decision, whereas a live format cannot be tampered.

@@cloudwalk66 I dunno , I might need to watch the fight again , but a landing like that is pretty bad , I don’t wanna jump on the hype that it’s fake and say he’s a quitter , because not everyone goes flying out the ring like that and becomes fine , because if he carried on and he looked awful for the rest of the fight , everyone would have criticised him for that as well

@@guinessdrinker_azc29 he already looked awful before the incident. As bad as it looked, he was only moaning about the ankle. How come they haven’t made any kind of statement about the ‘injury’ to the press? Just look at the body language . None of it adds up. Hardly the way of a warrior.

I know it's impossible to diagnose pain so only the fighter himself knows if he could have fought on, but if he was injured to the extent that he can't move around & fight on there should be some proof afterwards, bad swelling, a scan showing the damage done etc. without that people will think that he took an escape route from what was a difficult fight.

Take a look atound the boxing forums. Most people have not been saying Whittaker is the next big thing. On the contrary many have been saying he's a highlight reel ko waiting to happen. I myself backed Cameron at 9/1 it was upset night for Whittaker and he bailed when the chance arose.
