Why is no one taking into account the fact that Chelsea have been missing their first choice defense all season. Reese James, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill and Ben Chilwell. The best striker at the club Christopher Nkunku has been out nearly all season. Enzo has been playing with a hernia for 5 months. Lavia has played only 32 minutes for the season. Gusto has been phenomenal at right back and second to none. There’s fabulous young players already signed who are out on loan. These players will eventually all come back into the equation at some stage. We need a top class centre forward in the summer and then watch us go.

I love how pundits say kids this kids that on the team but when you actually check when terry Lampard and the gang were there, it was a fairly young team and the only reason they started playing so well is because of the Mourinho culture of winning without any doubt. Chelsea actually have 58.7% possession this season. And are 4th in the Premier League table in xG. And they are the youngest side in the entire league. People might mock these stats because points won ultimately determine where sides finish in the table. But if you’ve actually watched Chelsea this season, it’s clear to see that they have a ton of talent, potential, and have actually dominated a lot of matches they’ve either drawn or lost but didn’t win because their finishing has been atrocious. Long term, if I were a Chelsea fan, I’d actually be very optimistic about where this group of young players is headed. Because people might mock them right now but I actually genuinely believe they will finish next season somewhere between 65-75 points as they continue to mature, grow, and improve.

A huge part of the problem for both Poch and Ten Hag is the media, and fans, still have not let go of the past and are comparing both clubs to very outdated images from the past. People have such short memories that they forget Chelsea only won 44 points last season. And they’ve already won 54 points this season with three matches to go. Poch has actually turned the team around whether people want to accept that or not. Likewise, Ten Hag literally took over the worst United side in Premier League history and overachieved in his first season with a bunch of short term stop gap solutions. Injuries this season have exposed how razor thin the quality of his squad actually is. The problem for both clubs is people yap about needing total rebuilds but don’t actually have the 4-5 year patience required for true rebuilds to occur. It’s a Catch 22 in our instant gratification era.

Agree with much of that. But. Boehly and Co came in a wiped the slate clean of almost every player. He might just know what he is doing, start again fresh on a proper long term plan with plenty of young talent and the right manager. Cut the past out completely and change the discussion and pressure. Leave it to CFC to do things differently than everyone else, and probably succeed again. While utd might be stuck always trying to make a bad bunch better with a new manager and a new big signing who doesnt work out. They struggle to get rid of players, many dont try and many are toxic. Fans are divided because the discussion is about so many different things (the past), rather than the project. It all leads to the manager fired, then repeat.

Simon needs to get his quoting in check. Boehly didn't say they planned to have that many shots. He said "We played beautiful football. It was so fluid, it was exactly how we drew it up. The number of shots we had on goal for those 2 and a half games you could really start to see what we were working on." His tone also basically phrased it that the shots were just one of the indicators that the play was coming together. They never said "We planned to have this many shots yadayada" and if you actually listen to the clip to hear the tone its really not implied that was the case.

This team just needs time, Poch needs time. Even with Silva leaving, Chelsea do not need any experience or new players coming in which these pundits are clamouring for. We have James, Chilwell, Colwill and Gallagher developing as our core leadership contingent which can drive the team going forward and instil our values. There is no need for any new, older player(s) coming into the group, having to adjust to the team themselves and try pulling rank when Reece James is already there. James is well-respected and his influence is already felt behind the scenes (a constant figure in the background, spoken highly of by his peers, attends youth games, supports players and staff ala JT) he just needs to lead on the pitch and stay fit. We just need our injured players fit and a stable squad. No new players are required, not even a new striker. Jackson does everything we need in our build-up play, arguably as well as most top-tier strikers, once he adds more goals to his game he'll be devastating. His close control, link-up play and passing range will only get better with time, a very unique skillset and profile similar to Henry (a left winger until he added goals to his game). With Nkunku coming back and Washington available, we're covered in that department. Even in our defensive midfield, Lavia could come into the base or even Ugochukwu if we require height or more strength. Centre back is covered as well, sadly even if Chalobah leaves, we have Fofana coming back into the fold. The 1 billion outlay wasn't just spent for the first eleven, we have multiple positions covered across the squad.

Hi Guys, to be honest i am surprised we have made it to 7th spot in the premiership. I personally feel without Sterling and Enzo we are a better unit and can see some of the younger players starting to play as a team. What i dont like and it was confirmed today in a press conference with Todd Boehly. Todd has a limited knowledge of football, he is a corporate man interested in the Brand and how profitable it is. Its clear why fans have not warmed to him because its clear to me he does not know how to promote a team. This team is not in the A class. There has been some progress in the last 11 games but it has the quality of Europa league written over it.
