Saw Simon do a pedal promo show in Glasgow then afterwards bumped into him in a curry restaurant after it and chatted away like your mate down the pub . A few months later boom ! He gets the Purple gig ! Saw him last week in Glasgow and he was great , proper pro and helluva nice guy , wish him every success. The PRS /Engl setup is a beauty. 🎸

As a lighting guy in the mid-90s, the guitarist in a band I work with on the regular was complaining about how directional his slant quad box was. If he moved left or right, he'd lose the guitar. Yet when he'd sing, the speakers were pointed at the back of his head, and he couldn't hear the monitors. So I suggested we lift the cab up on 4 milk creates & laid the quad box on its side. Initially, he didn't like the look of it, but after sound checking 4 full songs, he was sold. The spread across the stage was perfect & when singing, there was a perfect dead spot that he asked for the monitors to be turned down now. Stayed that way for years.

Here would be my rig rundown…..”well, I have this hss strat here, then this cable goes from the guitar and runs over to that amp head which is connected to the 4x10 cabinet under neath it.” Not that I would ever get a rig rundown, but that would be it. Volume on guitar determines clean, rhythm, solo. Kinda like angus young without the little preamp upfront and that power conditioner. I love effects just like any other fella, but there is a fun factor in minimalism. Mr McBrides rig sounds outstanding.

@@DrMurdercock Damn you're right, PRS has been making guitars since 1983 and they're breaking all the time. What a bunch of wankers. Oh wait no, this is the only one that broke like this lmao. Almost 40 years and one custom prototype in a style, shape, and thickness PRS never made before breaks in half. How about the time Herman broke the headstock on his Ibanez? Where's the outrage over that?
