Her name was Ann and the night he killed the kids, she was in Milwaukee (I believe) with another man. Don’t know anything else.

grew up down about 3 blocks down the street. Stayed far away from this house when I was running around the neighborhood with my friends as a kid. You could feel the energy from across the street. There was also probably about 5-6 different tenants in the 14 years I lived in the neighborhood... RIP to all the kids

We may have been forced to grow up with Monsters, but as a Mother I don't EVER leave my child with a Monster or even take that chance she may be with my Mother and he comes along!!! Not a chance!! Ironically enough, most houses with murders that happen in them are not torn down. Only a handful of ones I have covered are taken down. Some states, the seller and realtor are required to tell the potential buyers if murders or any other crime has happened there. Not all states require it

What an absolute tragedy... that crime scene must've been like something out of a horror movie. First responders probably had nightmares for a long time. I can only imagine how horrible the mother felt for leaving the kids with this monster. The marriage was most likely an abusive one, if she wanted him to stop drinking. Shaving his beard and going to the gym are more personal choices you can't really impose on your partner unless they're willing. So sad... may all the victims R.I.P🌹

Now those things are considered personal choices not to impose on a partner but think about Ann and Pete's 50's 60's upbringing where the hair would've been associated with rebellion if not laziness and although mental health treatment was coming along there still wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed through exercise and discipline. You know how even these days people with depression, anxiety or bipolar are told to avoid unnatural meds and get outside for a walk or run everyday even when it feels impossible to get out of bed.

I was actually busy going through old hockey results and boxscores from 1978 and was using the online archives of the Calgary Herald newspaper. By random chance I noticed a headline from May 23rd, 1978 mentioning these murders. This is from where I continued searching about this, I feel empty thinking about the children and the future they didn't have. Thank you for showing their headstones. I don't know anything else to say, just that now I know about them at least. The kids that deserved to live.
