I am new to Indy racing (more of F1 and LeMans), and had no idea who this guy was. I had to look closely to make sure this wasn't a joke video. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the similarity LOL!

One advantage of Indy Car over F1 is that, Indy Car doesn't carry the burden of having to be the pinnacle of the sport, especially in terms of technology. What it means is that Indy Car has much more freedom to play around with their car regulations to create better racing, they could turn the cars into a more primitive form yet won't face as much complaints as F1 if F1 does the same thing.

F1 is better the way it is and still is 100 times better than Indicar as a full pack product in my opinion.

It used to be better, I think it has something to do with just how modern Formula race cars are so planted to the ground. I mean, back in the days, even when there wasn't any close racing going on, watching the car dancing while the driver having one hell of a fight to keep the beast in control was fun enough to watch.

F1 became successfull because of its main core which is pushing car technology further. That is what makes F1 the pinacle of motor racing with legendary racers and tracks. It should stay that way otherwise there is no point watching F1 if you want to make it spec racing like Indycar. There are lot of "primitive" racings to watch for those who like primitive racing. Todays F1 car are fastest than ever making overtaking not so easy because of the aero. But i think that F1 board have done great job to make the races more entertaining with DRS and tyre management making races a bit unpredictable. This season has been great so far and i won t change F1 for any other open wheel racing. I may also add that F1 has a great future with Liberty Media as new owner. They have done great job to make the sport open to many fans and you can feel that excitment on social media. So in my opinion F1 is still the greatest motor racing a longside with WRC.

I meant Indy car used to be better. The main core being pushing car technology further is exactly what put F1 in a disadvantage in modern days. Even though F1 from these 2 years are the fastest of all time, it's already well known that with current technology they could actually push way further than what we have now, but they couldn't do it, why? Regulations, development and running cost for smaller teams, safety, human's physical limitations, complicated aerodynamic designs, which caused the higher difficulty of close racing from the dirty air issues, complaints from top teams, etc etc. Lots and lots of issues, they simply couldn't open up the rules because of how risky it is, this limited the chances of something truly revolutionary to be created. It's no longer interesting to see only 1-2 sec faster per lap after so many years, we know they could do much more. I'm fully aware of how there are actually uncountable of genius designs being put on every little details of a modern F1 car, but the cars are just too similar from team to team, year to year to us regular audience, there's no longer anything truly mind blowing enough to keep my attention like from the old days. It's not F1's fault though, racing technology already almost reach a point where engineers knows exactly what's the best way of doing certain things under certain regulations, so flamboyant designs are probably unlikely to appear anymore unless they could overcome all those issues i mentioned above.

Is windscreen gonna hinder visibility? Like when raining, etc. Because before Formula 1 uses Halo, windscreen was the alternative choice, but it got rejected. Maybe because of visibility issues.

Windscreen got rejected in F1 because due to the cockpit shape it distorted the view and made Seb sick. Having the halo in an Indycar would also hinder visibility more because they also drive on ovals so they need to be able to see directly in front of them. It works for F1 because drivers are always looking at the next corners but in Indycar it wouldn't be safe.

Everything old is new again. Starting to look like an old Lola chassis. As an old CART fan, I think this is good, but I haven’t watched Indy-type racing since the early 2000s.

Call me a pessimist, but the damage done in the late 90s and 2000s is irreparable. The money is no longer there...so they'll never get back to a situation of 4 engine suppliers , 4-5 chassis manufacturers, 2 tire suppliers. etc. again. Then again, I've changed as well...I'm not much of a motorsports fan on any level anymore.

For me the new mercedes or ferrari f1 cars are looking better and faster than indy cars and the aero is much more dramtic on a modern f1 car. Still i like the new look much more than the old one.

I like the new design, i found very smart to think of down force even when the car is braking, also i always thought that the upper intake was a waste of the center of gravity and the turbulence from aerodynamics as well. if you agree with me click thumbs up ;)

Indycar is a smaller series with not even a quarter of the budget of F1 or Nascar yet it produces better racing. I like F1 but Indycar is where is at if you are a pure racing fan.

Formula One Features Ferrari’s battling AMG Mercedes and Renault. Honda is the shitty manufacture in F1. It is actually global.Indy car features Chevy’s vs Honda’s. Most of the races are shit circuits and ovals sans the Indianapolis 500. Of course I’d rather watch F1 captain obvious!!! 🤣
