His syncopation and his rudiments were absolutely flawless... He had a style of his own... He is my favorite percussionist of all time...

Wow, uno de los más grandes. En fusión el trabajo de dinámicas es de lujo, dinámicas en todo, incluso en fills. Un capísimo.

Great fusion. As we know him from earlier "protocol" records. Besides: remarkable camera position with that cymbal right in front of Simons head looking like a vietnamese hat ;-)

outstanding playing as always from Simon. I find it interesting that he doesn't use a rack with that huge kit.

Jerry Milam Dude by your comment you make him like he passed away. Unless you know something I don't know he's very much alive.

Hello Jerry, Neil Peart was the drummer who recently passed away. Simon is still alive

Drum Kit is insane the guitar work sounds like it belongs to Greg Howe. Its sad that music like this goes un noticed on national radio but it can be found on XM/Sirus radio stations where on a select few get to have
@aldel54346 жыл бұрын
maybe its because that music died like 35 years ago?
@frankclarke36895 жыл бұрын
Sadly, as broad as the SiriusXM channel lineup is it still lacks a few genres. Come on XM, where is the Jazz fusion channel??? And where is the Instrument world music channel?? you CAN do better!! I pay you $40 per month!

Thank you very much for uploading! Did he play "Celtic Run" too? That's one of my favourites on the new album. Or any other songs from Protocol II and III for that matter, always nice to see how he plays, not only hear what he plays.

Unfortunately not , he did the clinic playing in previews only those three new songs of the new album protocol 4

Comparing his different approaches while druming with or, as in this case, without musicians, it seems to me he is much more "free" in this version. Is it due to the fact he doesn't need to take into considerations his fellow bandmates? Just a thought.

No really a drummer queastion, but why is this song played a semitone up from standard tuning?

I love how only musicians are amazed by this guy. if you dont know whats time signature, he is just some boring guy playing the same outdated shit over and over. watched all 3 - Solitaire, Pentangle Nimbus. in all 3 we start with some low key play between the hi hat and snare/percussions, at around 1.20 we go to the ride cymbal, and then we'll do as much tr tr tr tr tr tr tr on the toms as possible lol yeah great stuff. edited: watched more videos, he does exactly that 85% of the songs hahahahaha really dude, its not mandatory to be on the ride every 1.5 minutes into a song.

You sound like a jealous frustrated drummer....You probably have Simon Phillips zildjian posters in your basement behind your tama imperialstar kit
