I mean she's made it to quarterfinals or more in 7 of the 8 tournaments she played so far this season. And of those 7 she made it to the semifinals or higher in 5. There's a reason why she continues to remain in 1st place, she is by far the most consistent player on the WTA tour and has been for the last 4-5 years. With the exception of one week (which was mainly because of a technicality where she lost some points a week early, before she could defend them), she has been in the top 5 ever since she first made it there back in 2014.

I was following Halep also the last ten years. This was not a attack on Halep, i love Simona, i love the matches against Serena, all of them, the most exciting battles. I also know where she goes wrong.

Halep is still including world.no.1 without Grand Slam title..and the others are Dinara Safina already retired..Jelena Jankovic and Karolina Pliskova...and past time...Kim Clijsters when the first time she become tobe no.1 in 2003..she was not won Grand Slam but after that she won 4 grand slam...Amelie Mauresmo also not won grand slam title when she in debut carier top ringking..but after that she won 2 grand slam...and Carolina Wozniaki..when she was no.1 ..she also not won grand slam..but now she has 1 grand slam title...Can Haleps won Grand Slam to make her posisition perfect...in the top ringking...and following Clijsters..Mauresmo..and Wozniaki

She has the talent but other than last fall, Garcia hasn’t produced much in her entire career. The greats are usually well established by now and she always bombs in her home country’s French open. We’ll see!

She did pretty damn well last year at the WTA finals, making it into the final 4. Also before her match with Halep Garcia had only lost her serve once this week in Rome, against Stephens. Halep won because she was in top form and there just wasn't a whole lot Garcia could do about it. Case in point, look at how many times Halep broke her, ridiculous.
