Scott is an AWESOME reader. I have listened to many, many audiobooks read by him. His reading of Nelson Demille's Plum Island, and the rest of the John Corey novels is the best there is.

My favorite voice of all time. Playing the character Erasmus from the Dune prequels is my all time favorite. Sarcastic evil just drips through the microphone. Naws on my brain like a looses tooth you just can't stop wiggling because it hurts. 😅 Thanks for the years of entertainment.

Scott Brick is one of the best. I could listen to him read the phone book for hours. Scott’s work in “The Last Tribe” is a superb masterpiece. RC Bray is another world class voice actor. His work in ‘After It Happened’ is a masterpiece, IMO.

I was kind of a fan of Scott Brick... and then I came across *Michael Kramer* narrating Donald E Westlakes (aka Richard Stark) Parker series. Oh. My. God. Kramer is in a league of his own. Kramer is the reason I can no longer listen to Scott Brick. Scott "reads" words. Michael Kramer acts-out entire scenes with various voices/characters. He is a master craftsman when it comes to narrators. I will listen to anything with Michael Kramers name attached to it.

Hey Simon, I a fellow audio engineer. Could you if you have the time shed some light? I am having trouble getting that ‘audiobook sound’. I hear what sounds like a big boost in the high mids and a steep rolloff at around 8-9kHz? I don’t hear much in the way of lows. If anything I hear a boost at around 275hz. Is this correct? Is the idea that you basically just need the mid range for an audiobook? Please help! Thanks!

That’s the standard distance, buddy. Any closer and there would be problems. The hollow sound has more to do with the mastering.
