Citronella oil is a 'jummy' plant-based insect repellent,I rub on exposed skin areas before I go feral gallivanting, this way no killing the important little bugs going about their business and you about yours...too ;) ps. Simply loving the escapes Simon thank you for sharing your wildness.

Simon, Even the smallest detail of throwaway info.. is valuable to somebody plucking up the courage to leave their home comfort and go outdoors to find a nice photo. Because we haven’t done it before perhaps, then we watch someone like yourself and others who are..actually doing it and passing over their thoughts live to us. For those folk who are keen, then ‘leave no stone unturned’ so to speak. Even to see what a dog is likely to get up to while on the job is an eye-opener really. Cheers from New Zealand. (Tons of photos down under, dont forget, lol. ) 👍👍👍. (Bring Thomas too maybe)

Your videos have sort of calming effect on me, the kind you experience after meditation. The frames are so beautiful and calm. You don't talk gear and rant against a particular camera manufacturer. It's pure photography and a joy to watch. Thank you for churning out such great videos on a regular basis.

Another calming and thoughtful video Simon. Your explanations of the compositions are excellent and delighted that the techy stuff is available in the descriptions but not cluttering the video. I really like the way you use elements of the image to frame other elements. My happy place is the coast, because I live there. Actually I live on an island so seascapes are one of my prime subjects. I struggle in woodland, probably due to unfamiliarity, so I'm saving to come onto one of your 1:1 workshops to try and pick up on your thought processes.

Simon, you have become a very very great master in the way you use the drone. The last one is so finely workout, so intelligent... I'm kind of always afraid that the still image that will come right after might get weakened when compared with the brillant, original, not yet seen movement of camera that you achieved. Yet so great is your mastering of composition that the still just stand on its own.

Hi Simon. My you have been busy! Another great video that really does highlight the difference between you and me; I would have had no problem in deciding that I had a keeper from this shoot and it would have been the woodland shot. I might be up for a print of that if you're producing one. Really loved the drone work too, great idea to use the thinning mist in that way; quite beautiful. Glad to see that "reptilian bark" found its way into this production, it's far too good a concept to let go to waste.
@SimonBaxterPhotography7 жыл бұрын
Hi David. Thank you very much! Are you referring to the wide shot of the 'reptilian bark' tree? I think that would would print very nicely actually and it's certainly a keeper which I'll no doubt revisit in late autumn. I'll send you an email if I do a print that I'm very happy with :) Hope you're photography is going well!
@davidireland14607 жыл бұрын
Hi Simon. Yes that's the one. Love the colors and the texture. I'm definitely up for a print of that when you're ready. My photography is going well in a very rewarding way. One or two nice shots and I've been finding myself going off the well trodden paths too and finding some new compositions for shooting in different conditions in the future, so lots of good stuff that has come from the workshop. Thanks again and well done on the video.
