I am so freaking happy for Simone. Her Vault and floor routine were so amazing. So well deserved and the the third female gymnast to win 2 Olympic AA gold medals since Larisa Latynia and Vera Chevslaska.

So Simone scored slightly less on her total all around score in the final than in qualifying, yet still manages to get the gold despite Rebeca and Suni improving on their total all around scores from qualifying 🐐 👏🏻

Her degree of difficulty is way higher than her competition, so even if she doesn’t stick the landing, her scores START out higher and her skills are at a higher degree than her opponents. Learn gymnastics…
