Really enjoyed your analysis. I totally agree the colors you picked for Simone made her shine. I will say a huge portion of African Americans (not recent African immigrants) have distant European ancestry. Even if we have two African American parents, there's a lot more variance in our complexions. From Vanessa Williams to Viola Davis.

This was a wonderful video! I wanted to ask if you could do a video on how getting a tan in the summer could change your contrast or your best colors? The sunless tanners usually tend to have a similar undertone.. when you examine pictures of someone with sunless tanner applied and then with their natural skin color , does the sunless tanner temporarily give the appearance of a different root skin color? Or could sunless tanner combined with certain root skin colors cause some level of dissonance? No other color analysis video has addressed this that I can find. I love the fact that you are using actual science for your process and because of this I think your analysis would be the most accurate and helpful. Thank you

Thank you! I can add this topic to my request list. It will depend on the tanner what results you get in terms of changing the appearance of your Root Skin Color or creating dissonance. Do you want me to focus on caucasian skin tones or dark skin tones? Maybe you have a celebrity in mind that uses a sunless tanner. If you are asking for yourself, you could get a more personalized answer by becoming a channel model when you join the Raystudio Membership (any level).

@@ellaraystyle Thank you! I appreciate you adding it to your topic request list. I would love to see an analysis of the different skin tones with and without sunless tanner. To me , most sunless tanner looks warm or more yellow /orange on most people and I wondered if the person already has a yellow or orange root skin color this might not create dissonance but if the person had a red root skin color would a sunless tanner cause dissonance . Or maybe like with color frequency each person has a range of degrees that they can tan their skin without creating dissonance. I find the science of colors you talk about so interesting. I have been enjoying your videos for weeks and hope that sometime in the future I can sign up for a membership. Thanks for developing the science based color analysis.

Your questions are great! I will include them in the video and include examples of different people if I find them. If you have celebrities in mind who use tanner let me know.

Thank you for explaining. I am Black and wear black as a staple. Because white goes with black, I thought the combination was a no-brainer, and it is, but now I understand that it may not be for me. I found your channel searching for information on Black women. Thank You!

While black is most probably aligned with you if you have dark brown or black hair/eyes, white will most likely be too high of a contrast. If your skin tone is medium dark you will look gorgeous in a medium contrast color combo such as black and a medium dark color, for example #155794 (this shows the right depth, not the right hue for your color type, as this classic blue might not be aligned). If your skin tone is dark or very dark you will look gorgeous in a low contrast color combo such as black and a dark color, for example #0D365C (this shows the right depth, not the right hue for your color type). This is a general guideline and once I see an image of you (for a custom color analysis or should you join the Raystudio Membership) I will be able to give more customized advice.

Wow,the after is soo much better,specially the dark orange🤎🧡 combination that you made for her!! In the 🧡🤍 is too high in contrast, the white steels attention first but the dark orange I look directly to her eyes!!

Great video! Bright colors seem to always be pushed, but I look best in muted tones. Non-mixed black Americans can be a variety of shades, even in the "mixed black" depth spectrum (2-5). Probably even 1.

do you identify as non mix having skin tone between 3 and 4?
@Chicaboom644
@Chicaboom644 5 ай бұрын
@ellaraystyle Yes, I identify as black. Both my parents are black. I get my color from my dads side. Various shades within a family is common among black Americans due to our history, as many are multigenerationally mixed, with European ancestry, rather than two parents of different races. I love that you analyze people of various backgrounds. Because of the different phenotypes, it would be be interesting to see more color analysis pertaining to black people who are light to medium brown with various coloring. Ex. Gugu Mbatha Raw, Zoe Saldana, Sanaa Lathan, Halle Berry, even Vanessa Williams, Michael Ealy, Tisha Campbell, etc.

It´s interesting that you identify as black even though you might have European ancestry. Is it common in the black community to identify only as mix black when one direct parent is non black? Your examples are very helpful. I can add them to my list. What would you like to see in the video specifically? That I explain their color types or show what colors they can wear best? Or both?

Not everyone is flattered by every colour but I don’t find your analysis useful because you place almost everyone in sludge colours. Sludge colours are fine but they aren’t wow colours. They also aren’t feminine colours

@@ellaraystyle hi, I have watched many of your videos multiple times and I find your theory and content so interesting. Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate what you have created and I think I know what this commenter means. Your color choice examples can look more organic or natural. Our eyes have been trained to like dissonance or too bright colors on people, so I think "sludge" literally is of nature, and we are unlearning how to see natural and harmonious personal colors as boring or not separate from us enough.
@ellaraystyle
@ellaraystyle Ай бұрын
That is very true! An observation I made moving from Asia to Europe and learning a lot about western countries. Harmony and alignment is a concept I grew up with, in harmony with nature and myself always. So it is quiet surprising for me to see how much people enjoy dissonance not only in colors but also in music, lifestyle, relationships, etc. And I started to enjoy it, too, until I didn´t anymore. In colors, it can be a statement, it can be liberating, fun, creative. I understand that very well being an artist and designer. The question then is how much dissonance is ok and when does it make me sick? This is a very personal question to answer and everyone will answer differently based on what knowledge and beliefs they have. When I recommend colors to clients and show them on my channel some people assume I will recommend them the same colors - maybe because they believe they look similar to that client. In truth, everyone is unique and needs a unique set of colors to look radiant. For some, to look radiant it will mean to remain mostly within neutral colors and for others to look radiant will mean to grab every bright color they can because their body needs it. This is the goal with my method - to be able to recognize everyone´s uniqueness and needs and being able to deliver the right colors.

@@atmanandaprepare I wear true autumn colours and work pretty hard to find them. However they just are drab. I have sought out knitters in Scotland who do more exciting colours for autumns and I use an app to make sure they are autumn colours. Beautiful or in an earlier era what they would call ‘gay’ colours really do cheer me up. But not orange.
@charlotte-dp9sz
@charlotte-dp9sz Ай бұрын
@@atmanandaprepare natural colours can be camouflage or attention getting. But we don’t pick a bunch of flowers for different shades of brown. This content creators method does include soft purples and some other colours but I would love to see her wear some of these colours. And contrary to traditional colour analysis I’m a true autumn and I look good in certain pinks and pale blues and lilacs. Not all of them I’m not a summer it’s a battle to find the right ones but some look nice. Whenever I see a pretty girl being typed a true autumn I feel sorry for them. It’s a great pallet for looking sophisticated but it’s not fun. And I can see the value of this style of analysis because it isn’t totally limiting you to just warm colours thank goodness. I cannot and will not stick to only drab colours. Not on a summers day that is for sure.
