I don't know which is more impressive: the first eagle in the first up shot on the first hole's maiden voyage, the back to back eagles on the first and second time playing the opening par 4 you designed, or the aesthetic design prowess to want a fountain on that beautiful pond hole.
@lanceknightmare6 ай бұрын
The pond because it is far more lasting of a concept.

Simon and Avery, a combo I have missed so so much. Avery, come to MVP!!!!
@joeblow24266 ай бұрын
I think Avery has a good amount of responsibility at Discmania. One of his jobs is to design and install courses for Discmania's Disc Golf Park and he seems to enjoy it. I don't believe there is a comparable job at MVP. But maybe something else worthwhile for him? I would guess he's staying at Discmania.

I like your stated mindset for making this course. Feels like most pros right now mostly consider course design from a pro perspective without considering keeping the fun in the game for average players, so as an MA3/MA2 player, it's much appreciated.

It would be awesome to see a Sunday farmers market once the farm is up and producing . Get families into disc golf through clean grown food . Charge small cover for other booth spots so people can show off their crafts / arts . Proceeds go back to property to help grow more great food and course maintenance.

Nice of Simon to think of my noodle ~300 max arm when designing this course! It's tough to get dedicated disc golf courses that aren't public parks that keep us in mind. :D
@kyleweir6896 ай бұрын
300ft isn’t a noodle arm, really. It’s pretty average among average players.
@JaredTG.6 ай бұрын
Depends where you live really. Lots of courses here in the SE where you don't need much distance. I can throw like 340 max on a flex line and there's no par 3s that I can't reach in my area. Of course I don't always get there because I'm bad but it's possible. The only holes that I physically cannot reach are par 4 or 5 or are on the championship level courses. I know out west they have a lot more courses that are wide open bomber courses since there aren't as many forests or as much terrain to work with.

Looks great! Can’t wait until it’s finished. Assuming it’s pay to play as well. My only suggestion, and it’s not a criticism, is, on the holes that have exposed tee pads, why not install a pergola or use sail or something. It gets hot and a nice bit of shade helps so much. I’ve played in Mass in the rain and Meadow Orchards is a good example. If there were some covered areas behind those exposed tee pads to hide from the sun and the rain that course would be next level. Not every hole needs it just the ones that are in the middle of a field with nothing else around. I get it with upkeep and cost but if it’s pay to play course I would pay more to have this luxury. Just a thought and not a shot at this course. There are a lot of courses here in Texas that could do this too.
