For more than a decade they were one of the very finest traditional style blues bands in the entire world! Funny how the word "blues" get tossed around so much out there.. in the way of trying to sell something and often doesn't have anything to do with blues at all. I met Sam Myers at a club in West Springfield MA called Geraldine's back in the mid-'90s. It was early and the only folks in the place were Sam, me and the bartender. He told stories about being on the road with Elmore James, Howlin' Wolf and other legends. Very nice man. Huge man too. I sent a "get well" card to him when I heard he had cancer, but a couple of days after I sent it I heard he had passed.

first time I saw them was at Tips in 1988, they played there 2-3 times a year for the next few years. I didn't miss many, they'd play 3 sets and were a pleasure to talk to afterwards, have an autographed poster from when MIller Light was a sponsor. Anson was playing with Eric Lindell, out of Nola, about 2 years ago.
