The slightly higher pitch is probably so the guitar sounds more ok if the tuning drops abit. Alwas better to tune it abit sharp IMO

@Simon Smith, the bit with the power chords on the 3rd and 4th fret of the E string is not quite clear to me. Isn't Varg strumming something like 8 times each chord? Also, I saw several people playing this music on youtube and they do a very strange strumming pattern with some up and down movement which I can't figure exactly the timing. Do you know anything about this strumming?

What do you mean exactly by its in E standard but higher pitched?

E Standard tuning, but concert pitch is A at 440hz and it's slightly higher than that.

Thanks for actually answering mate. I figured it out myself by now, but still. I'm completely new to E-Guitars, and i had no damn clue what even a power chord was. I love this music, i want to learn it and eventually create such myself. Your tutorials really help with learning and getting inspired and motivated.
