Appy State, Wofford, and Navy all play there 34 defense like this.

what you need to talk about is what happens when you get change of strength if you are going to be a formation based defense. You touch on it a bit with your formation in the boundary cover 3 checks. coach when you get 3x1 and the #3 receiver is a tight end does this change your solo call?

Love your videos Coach! Quick question... vs. 2x2 removed, you are playing 1/4, 1/4, 1/2. We would like to play Sky on the 1/2 field side in order to gain the FS in the run game. My question is, what happens if they run 2 verticals vs. Sky? Thanks Coach Mac

It's not great because you can't funnel number 1 inside to help half safety. Regular Cov 2 is better but the corner is not as active in the run game

Thanks Coach. I've got another question if you don't mind. We're installing a 3-4 and I really like your idea of bring the OLB from the side with the fewest receivers. What is his run fit if on run away? Would you fold him in BSA, giving Mike FSB, and letting Will flow over the top? We'll have a Sky safety to the his side. Also will this change when we play SOLO and the FS has to cheat over? Thanks Coach Mac. You've been a great help to us.

smith john if he comes off the edge and the end goes b gap you may want to sit him on QB vs read game. He really just becomes the 5 tech to the reduction side

Can you do 4-4 defense with over front?

mark hoskins His 4-2-5 defense videos are 4-4 if you call the 2 down safeties linebackers. There is no real difference between the 2.
