@@minimalistoverlander I rarely see clothes drying outside a van. How odd. I would take advantage of the sun and wind, myself.

Love this build. I want to do something similar for overnight sleep at hiking trailheads. But, like you I want it to look totally stock outside. Have a great weekend!

@@minimalistoverlander Does the Kilmat also help keep out dampness from below the vehicle?

Good question. I'm not sure. I've never noticed any dampness.

Nice explanation and video. I built a one piece 4runner cargo bed platform about a year ago with similar thoughts and goals in mind. I wanted the platform to be as low as possible to allow for as much interior volume as possible. It allows for maximum head room and storage. I sent photos to your email. Let me know if you received them and what you think. Thanks for sharing! 😁👍

Like your thought process on your build, super simple not over the top. How do you like your fans? Do they give enough air flow throughout the cabin of your truck?
@minimalistoverlander Жыл бұрын
Fans rock although they are showing their age after three years of being slammed around on rough roads.

Didn’t.

@@minimalistoverlander so that leg is just sitting on a slope? Or is there something underneath stopping it from sliding?

It's screwed in from the top.

How is that OME lift holding up? I'm sure taking out those seats completely helps a lot with the weight reduction, too!
@minimalistoverlander Жыл бұрын
It’s holding up well. Disappointed that the ride is a bit stiff but handles like a dream on the highway. It’s an entry level lift but for money it’s excellent. No complaints on the trails. Since I don’t carry much, my vehicle is several hundred pounds under GVWR. Need to get it weighed for an accurate number.

This build continues to amaze me. Thanks for the review of the platform. Some clever ingenuity. I like how you use the ‘gizmo’ (aka a turnbuckle 😉) to keep the platform in place. Very smart!

Great video. I have a 4th generation 4Runner and I love the fact that there is no dip in the cargo area when you fold down the seats and therefore, no need for a platform.
