Thanks for saying what these things are called. Was able to just add to my Amazon list as I watch and just gotta press buy. My question is do i have to have sumps or can all this just stay contained in the pond?
@vonponics6 ай бұрын
You don't need to have a sump, you can just stick the bucket straight in the pond.

What kind of tree is that you have over the water tank?
@vonponics Жыл бұрын
Not sure which tree in the video. If you can leave a time stamp then I can check it out. But It could be the maple tree that you are refereeing to
@jwr_71410 ай бұрын
It's a maple. I believe he's asking because it slightly looks like a marijuana leaf

Would the metal from the bucket handle rust over time

Yes I would believe so

WHAT DO YOU THINK about running the hose to a water fountain?
@vonponics10 ай бұрын
Ya that would work, as long as the bucket is submerged

I guess you could add a UV light to the lid too.

I'm new to ponds, I would like a method of turning green water into clear water. I have a pond vacuum but that does not help with green water. Do you have a solution
@vonponics Жыл бұрын
A uv light helps with the single cell floating algae and will keep the water clear. For string algae and the algae growing on the side, feeding fish less can help otherwise scrubbing.

There is a product called POND PERFECT. It's basically beneficial bacteria in a bottle. Dose your filter with it. Cuts down the cycle time. I went from pea soup to clear water in a week. I'm also using a UV filter. Everything can be easily found on Amazon.
@zzman53065 ай бұрын
You can use pond plants to help control it. Plus keep water phosphates low.

Make sure beneficial bacteria is sufficient and you can use barley straw extract too

I want to make something like this to keep the water moving in my pool. I am off grid and I use a generator to run my big sand filter. I want to rig up a 12V pump to do some filtering but mainly to keep the water moving. I want to set up a solar panel directly to the pump so it comes on when the sun is out and shuts off when it is cloudy or night. I want to use a submersible pump that is 12V. I am hoping to keep it secure under the ladder. I am hoping to recirculate the water through the bucket and back out into the pool at or just below the surface. Best type of pump to run directly off the panel (no battery, controller, inverter. just 12 V on demand when the sun sines. Any suggestions?

Sorry haven't looked into setting up a small solar system like that so wouldn't know the best pump to use. The only things if looked at are just kits like these, which come with the pump and solar panel. amzn.to/45YrfAH
