Listening to your calm voice while learning new techniques, tips & tricks is medicine to my ears & nerves. I am more likely to try this in the future someday now. It’s a great way to start my day. Thanks again Sherri!

Love hexagons. I used the small hexagon paper pieces and made a grandmothers flower garden. I made it for my Daughter and it only took me 30 years lol. I hand quilted it, actually it was all hand pieced too.

Omgoodness, you really took the whole bite😳 Well, I’m sure during that 30 year timeframe you had a life going on🧐🤔. That’s absolutely wonderful to take in project as such👏👏👏 ❤️😀

I don’t think I’d ever do an entire quilt. But I can see pillows or table runners being much more doable. Good tutorial!

I love the 3 of you. You have rekindled my interest in quilting and especially applique. I had completed several blocks many years ago but had surgery on my right elbow. I tried to get interested again but it was different season in my life. 20 or more years later I'm gathering rulers, jelly rolls and layer cakes. I'm so excited thanks to the 3 of you...including Billy too. BTW I would only cut the background material if it was too difficult to get the freezer paper out from the front. God bless you!!

Many years ago when learning hand appliqué, we were taught using silk thread for it is much finer therefore giving more invisible stitching, and we also were taught to only pick up 2 to 3 threads from the backing fabric and to pick 2 to 3 threads from the piece being appliquéd just on the underside edge of the piece thereby no stitches were visible. This was the same way we were taught to finish hand stitching our binding.

Hi Sherri - This video was perfect! Exactly what I needed to learn how to do. You are an excellent teacher. I purchased your pattern (Flowers for Emma). I think your quilt is simply gorgeous. Since I found your channel, I’ve been binge watching your videos. It would be awesome to be able to take an actual class with you. I learn so much just watching you. Waiting for the Seashore Drive fabric to start this quilt. It’s my first quilt so I’m trying to learn every little tip that you share. Your quilts are all beautiful. Love all of the fabrics that y’all have designed. The whimsical flowers just speak to my heart when I look at them. I bought a Happy Day jelly roll from you. Then I found Balboa and it’s so gorgeous. Was able to find a honeybun on Etsy of it. Will be practicing making these hexi flowers with some fabric in my stash. Thank you for all these tutorials. I really do appreciate them. Hugs!

Thank you, Sherri! Perfect timing, I was working on an appliqué and watching videos. 😄 Your video made me a little more confident in my appliqué, sometimes it’s hard to know if you are doing something correctly. I’m sure I’ve seen the other videos you mentioned but I will need to refresh my mind a bit. 😂

I am also interested in needle size. It must be very tiny I’m guessing. I feel you’ve given me the confidence to try. I love to cross stitch and bond, feel like this is something calming for evenings in front of the tv or in the car.

Sherri, enjoyed this tutorial. About 6 years ago I bought a collection of hexagons. They were done by a woman that died and her niece sent them to a friend that put them in a sales booth at our local quilt show. There are dozens finished and hundreds of single 1 1/2" hexies. She had put alot together for grandmothers flower garden. But now I would like to set them on squares. So my question is what size block. The hexi flower is 7" point to point. 10 inches seem to big. Thanks. PS the fabric looks like it is from the 40's and 50's and her stitches are so tiny.
