I tried to switch from dosing weeklty to dosing daily, but I just keep forgetting it. Which is strange because I do not forget to feed my fish. I now dose about twice a week. For my new tank I have an autodosing system planned.

All top quality tanks! Thanks for the tour. I'm very interested in the High budget vs Low budget experiment. I recommend to put the co2 diffuser in front of the filter exit in the low budget. That's the way you have it set up in the High budget tank. That makes a lot of difference in dissolving co2 and I think is not fare to the low budget tank.

I just started with the hobby again 3 days ago and I am now using the tropica all in one every day but I am also doing 50% water changes every day (at least at the beginning). I absolutely love your second tank with all the red plants! It looks amazing, please don't take it down. Also the vase is stunning, it looks really natural :o

Hey Mark , Congrats on 50 K 🥂 Your channel has really had a big influence on how I manage my setups and it really got me to appreciate what I have . When I found your channel I was new to the world of aquascaping but in those couple of months I knew it was what I wanted . I was ADA ( Aquarium Design Addict ) spending money on tissue cultures was getting out of control & I knew it ... But I always new that I could stop myself @ anytime and that if I wanted to be great @ having planted tanks , just Keep buying new tanks , more plants 🌪️🌪️🌪️ I was "hooked" on those display tanks from The Green Machine & Green Aqua etc. really chasing after something that was not in my best interest and that is right when I started watching your channel . Did you show some of your Dads aquariums ? I'm lazy but very consistent. Using APT Complete dosing 1 pump everyday (about 1/2 dosage for 60p tank) in a heavily planted tank since day 1 of my setup and its doing fine except for a few ups and downs which happens to all of us. However I wish to try out the ADA ferts in future setups. Thanks for sharing your own experience with all these ferts.

I've also been in "Liquid nature Vienna". I talked with them about their fertilisation routine and basically i remember these guidelines: 1. They dose at maximum half the recommended dosage from Masterline I and II 2. If there is a green algae, they reduce Masterline II a little 3. If there is a BBA, they reduce Masterline I a little 4. They dose recomended dosage of Masterline Carbo I am dosing according to their recomendation, I am currently at 3ml Masterline II / day and Masterline I only 1ml / day in my 90P Aquarium! and i was never so satisfied with my aquarium.

I’ve got to confess. I don’t use ferts 😬😅 I did buy some a long time ago but both bottles are still full, I used them I think 2 times, got algae near instantly afterwards and it just put me off. Never really had any issues since though, plants always growing nice and never any algae 🤷🏽‍♂️ I must have magic water 😂

I had the exact same problem. Went out and bought tons of fertilizers, all kinds. Started dosing and algea exploded. Before dosing and now since I stopped it’s basically algea free except for some algea on the glass. Now I’m scared to try again. But I feel like I don’t really need it. My plants are looking beautiful to be honest. If I see deficiencies I’ll start dosing for that specific deficiency, until then I’m not touching it 😅

Question for you - in a 5.5 gallon tank with only buce, anubias and staurogyne repens, do you think that CO2 could possibly cause more problems than help? The tank has a plant grow light hanging above it with emersed plants as well.

Yeah I wouldn't bother with CO2, the S. Repens might grow a bit better with CO2, but the other plants are fine without.

Hi Marc Not sure if this is applicable to these Fertilizers....but you shouldn't dose Micro and Macro together as the Iron in the Micro reacts with the Phosphate and renders Iron mostly non available to plants! Just dose Trace/Micro on a Tuesday/Thursday and Macro the rest of the days!

Hello, al the way from South Africa 👋🏻. I would like to know when should I start adding liquid fertilizer? My scape is two month old and my NO2 and NO3 levels are 0, but I am struggling with hair algae. I dont want to add fertilizer and give the hair algae more food. Any comments would be appreciated.

I would start dosing a small amount of fertilizer and focus on getting rid of the hair algae. Either by reducing light intensity/duration, or by adding floating plants, or maybe you need to bump up the CO2 a little.

I noticed you are injecting so little CO2 to your aquariums, my tanks are full of bubbles and drop checker is allways green, your difuser sprays few bubbles visualy. Do you do that intentionaly and for what reason?

Feels like I'm injecting a lot of CO2 in my tanks, but the diffusers are quite good and they make the CO2 bubbles very small, so maybe you don't see them well on camera.

tbh i dont like Masterline. And i‘ve been in aquascaping-stores which especially don‘t recommend masterline. And everytime i gave masterline another try i only got algae issues.
