Great video. We use the forks on our tractor also, sure saves your back! We also use a foodsaver, we chose the titanium gamesaver. We normally do everything including steers ourselves. We have a large 3 door commercial fridge for aging and 4 freezers. My table is a banquet type white plastic with folding legs easily bleached afterwards.

Excellent video. I'd throw a plastic tarp over the work bench however, but mostly because I'm a wood worker and I don't want crap on my woodworking surface. LOL We used to remove the meat from the bone (game meat, that is), put it in a plastic bag, squeeze out the air, twist the top and tie a knot, then wrap it in butcher paper and toss it in the freezer. It WILL last for years and have no freezer burn, no gamy taste, and cook up as good as it did when you first butchered it. I'm talking YEARS.

Oak tree and block and tackle, bring the quarters into the kitchen. Helps a lot to have a helping wife.

Nice set up Austin, I butcher my own deer as well but have a folding plastic table that I use for butchering chickens also. I’ve had a rough deer season this year.....missed 5 deer so far thanks to a new gun and scope that I forgot to lock the threads on. Hoping for better luck the rest of the season. Love your channel!

Great video! One of the most important things in choosing a freezer is that it be MANUAL defrost, NOT frost free - meat (or anything) will not keep well long term in a frost free freezer.

My husband and I butchered a buck when we were living in a 36ft 5th wheel in washington, PA. (He was on the road working.) We had to do most of the butchering in the bed of our truck. You're right, you can work it out if you have to. I'm thinking your freezer would be handy not just for the meat, but to chill that milk in the summer time!? Especially now you have 4 heifers! And if you do your research, wood chopping blocks are actually more sanitary than other chopping block materials. Just sayin'. 😊 Keep up the good work!

Austin, I really enjoy all your content but I think this is the first time I have ever commented. We are in the planning phase of our new homestead workshop. Plan on butchering all the things in there as well as having a squat rack workout area and a walk-in cooler. Thinking a 40x40 post frame with 12' walls. Would love any and all advice you have to offer to make sure we do this thing right.

Great set up Austin. And everyone having a conuption at the wooden table.. As Long As Its Clean Its Fine. Butcher's use BUTCHER BLOCK to cut on.. it prevents the knives getting damaged..but Austin is using cutting boards anyway.

You might want a chamber vac machine a little more expensive up front but the bags are only 1 or 2 cents just an idea

wooden table !!! wooden table to cut the meat !!!! I thought it should be a Stainless Steel to prevent contamination

Just gonna point out that wild goats in the U.S. are not what you think of as goats. we have mountain goats. thats about all thats wild and they are not the eating type. there is an island that was a poorly managed farm land that got out of hand making the "farm goats" now "wild" (San Clemente Islands, off of the coast of southern California) but a quick wikipedia search will tell you how that was solved.

Butcher block is best for cutting and things like dough stainless steel isn't the best I would know cause I work in a bakery plus stainless steel looks too cold no character with it
