I found your video when searching for “wavy brushing” because after two years of CGM, I still don’t have results I would like to leave the house with. Even scrunching out the crunch, with my combination of ringlets, waves, and crispy snakes will not get me looking good. I have been doing my hair at night now, then putting it crunchy into a pineapple or silk bonnet for sleep. In the morning, not even refreshing will make me look presentable, but if I brush dry, then refresh, then I have waves that look good and some ringlets and sausage curls. For my 2b-2c hair, this seems to be what I need to do! Rainy days actually help my hair, too. Thanks for the video. It always helps to see how others do techniques you are trying!

Love these tips! I end up washing every other day because I can’t take how knotty it gets, especially the underneath layer.

Mine does, as well. That’s actually one of the reasons why I started doing this ❤️

This was great timing. I've got my wash day styling routine down pat & found my perfect combo of products for that but I'm still struggling with day 3,4 etc hair & haven't had time to experiment with refresh styling. Usually I just wear it up or end up doing a low poo refresh wash mid week. I sleep with a silk hair bonnet & that keeps my hair tangle free. It's been a real game changer for my hair which used to get so snarled at night.

Refreshes can be tricky! Hopefully this works well for you, also.

@Ali, thanks for the great tips! I will be trying this refresh technique for my next refresh day! I’d love to see a video on your haircut. Would you consider filming at your next appointment? 💕

Yes! I’d be happy to, just need to make sure my stylist is ok with it ❤️ if you need something more immediate, I have a highlight saved on my Instagram (@wavycurly) that talks about what I ask for.

How often do you do this refresh? can you do it daily after a wash day if hair gets very tangled? I have fine hair that gets tangled so easily and needs to be refreshed more frequently

Thanks for the video! I get knots about day 4 so I will try this. I’m not sure what pixie diffusing looks like. Can you explain or link a video? Thanks!

I'm having some frizz after I sleep on my hair the day after I wash it and I manage to mess up and touch it every single time even though it almost always makes it worse. I end up hating myself afterwards, usually, bc it was okay before at least and now it's more frizzy and doesn't feel soft in the back like it did before. I don't want to have to wash my hair again just to start it over plus I know it's not good on it to wash it daily, so I'm trying to figure out how to help improve things without just making things worse like a dummy. I comb it carefully while it's wet after I wash it and then I don't brush it the next day because I'm trying not to lose the wave pattern. Should I be going ahead and combing it the next morning or should I leave it alone all together and figure out some for the frizz on top and in the middle of the back without touching it? I'm really starting to get bothered by this which is why I started trying to Google and ended up on your KZbin.

Thanks for this video Ali ,I am really struggling with refreshing and will definitely try it! Just a question, I am guessing dry brushing should be done super gently in order not to break the hair? 🌹🌺
@WavyCurlyAli4 жыл бұрын
Great question! I haven’t had issues with breakage. I gently brush my hair starting from the bottom and working my way up. This makes it much easier to get the brush through my hair without needing to tug on it.

Did you get full lowlights? It looks really pretty!
@WavyCurlyAli4 жыл бұрын
I did!! Thank you. I did all over low lights, but left some of the blonde out to add dimension. We toned the blonde to a more neutral color so it wasn’t so bright. I completely forgot to mention this in the video. I didn’t even realize this was my first video back since changing the color 😂
