Hello there. So, have you mastered the drumming rudiments and are you able to perform a proper 2 stroke drum roll? Do hope you don't mind me asking, but had practise pad and sticks, DVDs, tutorial books, a couple of lessons and practiced for eons. Had a kit and COULD learn grooves and beats. Even John Bonham/Bernard Perdie shuffle! However, ultimately gave up due to failure to satifactorily master the rudiments. Regards - Mike

I've been learning piano for the last 11 months, and have learned to play with both hands, too. I discovered your Four Money Chords yesterday, and found them straightforward, but such a welcome change to the normal tunes that I've been playing. I tried everything else and i didnt have ANY coordination. Now I finally could pass the stuck phase that i was with the piano. Been playing 3 months (self taught) took 10 mins for me. Sounds like bragging but not lol. I learnt (and still remember) how to play a few songs as a kid but that's it. I think having the blessing of being able to playby ear helps a lot. Actually there an app that can train you too play by ear. This is awesome!! I learned in about 45 minutes then took a break for an hour an for some reason played better the second time but, I'm a boomer and I only started this last weekend so Im pretty slow 🐌 This is a awesome lesson and very useful. The fact that it uses simple progressions instead of trying to play each measure note for note ( which is hard and quite frankly, frustrating for me ) makes me feel a greater sense of accomplishment and sounds great. I just learned this pattern in about 30 seconds.. so check it, I've played guitarr (completely self-taught) for 16 years and now all of the sudden i can come up with so much more creative melodies on a piano, than I've ever been able to do on guitar.. I started playing by ear with just the major cords of this progression for the song “Stand by me” by b.b. king, when I was 10. I’ve since used variations in right hand playing style for those chords and applied it to many synthesizer jams but never ventured past that with the minor cords. Really appreciate this video. I was looking for something slightly outside my comfort zone with that progression that would give me more options and this was right up my alley. Thanks again!

Thanks to you ! Comment on an old video as a beginner who started one week ago keyboard (got some musical background behind me, i play guitar, didgeridoo and handpan but without any knowledge in music theory and getting stuck in the learning process) and decided to learn som music theory before really getting into it. I should admit that it is very easy to understand and starting to play by self when all the pieces clicks together. Even without much practice, the lesson is understood in a matter of minutes. And i can also apply it to guitar, which a huge benefit. I'll be able in a near future to speak properly the music language. Don't skip theory and just experiment with this and you will have fun very quickly. With any instrument. And take the time to find an instrument that fits you. You'll learn so much asside the techniques. Thanks again for the videos :)

Hey Zack, great job. I just wanted to point out that in the guitar tab (at 12:09), you'll notice that the capo is on the 1st fret. Therefore while playing in the Key of G on the guitar with the chords that appear in the tab you are actually playing in the Key of Ab (Fm) (since the capo shifts everything up half a tone), which is the key the original song is recorded in. Just wanted to make that clear in case beginner piano players wonder why playing the Em on the piano doesn't sound the same as the actual song (where it's actually an Fm).

THIS WAS AWESOME. I haven't taken piano lessons since I was a kid. I didn't enjoy it very much. Not because of my teacher, who I loved and appreciated, but because I was forced to learn it. I've gotten the learning bug for piano now and figured, "If I can just learn the various chords, that will get me further than I could ever imagine". Great Beginners video. I have taken this idea and am using 3 notes in the right hand, and octaves in the left hand. Trying out various note combinations of the chords (inversons). Really intersting as to how one can control the tension and release.. For the C & G I go down in the right hand, then for A & F go up. Love you energy and enthusiasm.

I am a bloody beginner and played the guitar once (but at some point I gave it up... and yes, I was thinking about changing the instrument earlier) I just tried out the first chords and it gave me hope cause I love music but I just failed in doing what I want and now I think I could try another instrument and learn piano and keyboard. After that very first video I managed to do some other chords from another video (I mean "the sad, catchy, road" one). Now I looked to this song and yes I paused for now cause I have to bring it together first (and I feel like my hands are not into it right now)... but I'll try it tomorrow. I am motivated and I think in around a few days to a week I could manage it. I am not good in reading notes and so I have to thank you that you enable people like me to make good sounds too.

My teacher was so mean and it was all play by ear and no sheet music. She would hover over me and poke me with a sharp pencil if I messed up, i knew like twenty songs, but as soon as my mom said I didn’t have to take lessons from her anymore, I literally forgot how to play, like a mental block... Took me a half hour or so to get my fingers coordinated together to get through it once without a mistake. Then after one round of it all, my right hand fingers just freeze like they suddenly forgot what to do. LOL. I'll let it rest until tomorrow's session and see if my fingers don't smarten up a bit overnight. I'll have to work on this lesson for a few days to get it down. My brain goes, "Hey, I get it! That seems soooo easy!" Then my fingers go, "Nope. Not gonna let you off that easy. We all like to do our own thing!"
