Great job and the Tung oil gave the oak a warm look, beautiful. I would like to suggest a dehumidifier for that room. All of the metal surfaces are pretty rusted. After cleaning them, a nice coat of Brix wax will keep them clear for a year. And you only need to touch it up once and awhile. Thanks for sharing.

I learned how to play "The Entertainer" on piano but haven't played for years. I wish I could play these songs too!

Suggestion: remove table and place top down on a workbench to install end pieces. Access to mounting holes will be easier and end pieces will be flush with table top.

That’s a great tip! Thanks!

Question. What brand of saw is this? I see you bought a riser block to resaw I assume. Was this built for this saw or did you make some adjustments. I have a general international im looking to get a riser block for.
@TerrapinCreations6667 ай бұрын
It’s a Jet 14 inch bandsaw, and the riser kit is made for this brand saw. I just had to buy longer blades.

Lack of frustration...use a thicker board like a 2x6 and use trigger clamps instead of C clamps. :)

2 questions: What is that strip of metal (?) at opposite end of clamp? How did you adjust the fence to make it parallel to table to get same thickness strips or did I miss that. Great project. purchased old saw & need to make my fence. I like your idea.
@TerrapinCreations6662 жыл бұрын
I think you mean the black strip on the wood on the opposite end from the clamp? If so, that’s just a strip of electrical tape to provide a bit of grip. To make sure the fence is aligned with the table, I just measure with a rigid ruler from the mitre groove/slot to the fence on each end, and adjust until it measures the same at each end.

Great idea Bill, What brand is your bandsaw? I just got a Delta and it does not come with the fence
@TerrapinCreations6667 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s an old 14 inch Jet.

I usually loathe music during woodworking videos but this was quite enjoyable with the music added. Thanks for the video.

what is that metal piece you are using as an end clamp called
Hi, I'm a newby with woodworking. My dad just gave me his bandsaw and I want to make this jig. I have a question though (and remember I am just starting out with wood working and I am loving it but have so much to learn), why do you glue two pieces of wood together instead of just get a piece that is already the right size?
@TerrapinCreations6662 жыл бұрын
I didn’t have any of that oak that was thick enough. Thanks 😊

i'm the same urlulap... newbie - I found a nice bit today to make my fence - not sticking any bits together or the likes or I'll screw it up lol!

By using two boards glues is make sure they will not twist or bow,much stronger then just one thick board

I enjoyed everything but the music. This is a construction of a tool, you don't need roaring 20's music. Voice over would be lots better than the music or sound effects.

Why didnt you take the time to use the clamps?!?!?! you already had them out and you were over dramatic saying they dont work when they do!
@TerrapinCreations6662 жыл бұрын
The underside of that table is riddled with fins and it’s just not clamp friendly at all.

Good vid ruined by that horrendous irritating crap music. Good job though👍

Thanks! There’s a thing called the volume that you can actually turn all the way down! It’s amazing! Will wonders never cease? 😉👍

Clever boy, have a pat on the back. There's also a thing called "no music" or "good music" it's a thing where you don't put crap fkn music in your vids so that your viewers don't have to use that invention called "volume" what you do is put better, more listenable music in your vids or none at all. It's amazing what you can do if you use your fkn imagination isn't it? 👍👏

OMG! did you have anyone watch your video before posting? my god, it makes me seasick. Video is so jerky can't tell what you're doing. Have someone hold the camera. there's a reason youtubers use tripods. HOLD THE CAMERA STILL!
